Moremi Game Reserve Lodges – Inside the Reserve and on Its Borders
Moremi Game Reserve covers the central and eastern Okavango Delta, including Chief's Island and the Moremi Tongue, and takes its name from Chief Moremi III of the BaTawana. Lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo and wild dogs all roam here, and every lodge below puts you within reach of that wildlife – the real choice is which corner of Moremi you wake up in, and whether you're inside the reserve or on its border.
Most camps inside the reserve keep to daytime game drives, with boating or mokoro trips where a camp has water. Mombo and Little Mombo added seasonal night drives, boating and mokoro in 2026, and the two Chitabe camps on the private concession next door offer night drives and seasonal guided walks.

Camp Moremi sits inside the reserve on Xakanaxa Lagoon, pairing game drives with motorboat trips on the lagoon and fine birding. A pool deck fills the midday hours, and a family tent with two en-suite bedrooms suits parents travelling with children.
Chitabe Camp

Chitabe Camp stands on an island in the private Chitabe concession, bordering Moremi in the south-eastern Delta. Being outside the reserve, it adds night drives to day drives, plus guided walks when floodwater levels and guide availability allow.
Chitabe Lediba Camp

Chitabe Lediba is the smaller sister to Chitabe Camp, on the same island in the private concession bordering Moremi. Tents overlook a waterhole and family units have two adjoining bedrooms; days run to game drives and night drives, with guided walks in season.
Little Mombo Camp

Okuti Camp

Okuti faces the Maunachira River inside Moremi, mixing game drives with motorboat and mokoro trips, so each day moves between land and water. Two-bedroom family Masasas suit families, and the camp is wheelchair friendly.

Chief's Camp sits on the north-western side of Chief's Island in the Mombo concession, inside Moremi. Game drives are the core of each day, with mokoro excursions in season, a plunge pool on every pavilion deck and a spa for the hours between.
Tawana Camp

Tawana opened in 2024 on the Gomoti River in Moremi's south-east, in partnership with the Batawana paramount chief. It is known for land-based game viewing, with lion, leopard and wild dog often near camp, plus boat safaris and helicopter flights.
Xakanaxa Camp

Xakanaxa Camp overlooks Xakanaxa Lagoon on the Khwai River, inside Moremi. Game drives and motorboat trips both run year-round, so you can split each day between land and water. A two-bedroom family tent suits families.
Xigera Safari Lodge

Xigera stands on Paradise Island in the western reaches of Moremi, south-west of Chief's Island. Land and water activities shift with the flood level, an African art collection fills the lodge, and the Baobab Treehouse offers a night out above the floodplain.

Most of them, depending on the camp and the flood. Xakanaxa Camp runs motorboat trips year-round on Xakanaxa Lagoon, and Camp Moremi boats on the same lagoon. Okuti offers motorboat and mokoro trips, Chief's Camp seasonal mokoro, Tawana boat safaris, and Mombo and Little Mombo seasonal boating and mokoro. Xigera's water activities follow the flood level.
Can I do night drives from a Moremi lodge?
