Mombo Camp's location within the Moremi Game Reserve is second to none in Botswana. A luxury option for those seeking the finest in service, decor, cuisine and wildlife, this is Mombo, there is no other camp quite like it.
Overlooking a floodplain on the northwestern end of Chief's Island, an area so remote the only way of getting in is by light aircraft.
A flagship camp in a flagship destination, a camp that will have you enthralled by what can be witnessed on a single game drive. A camp that will spoil you in so many ways from the second you arrive until you say goodbye.
Put this way, if the wildlife is good enough for 'National Geographic' it is good enough for us the humble travellers of the World.
Rooms and Suites
Mombo Camps nine large tented suites all elevated 2 metres off the ground offer guests a separate lounge area, a wooden viewing deck with day loungers, a bedroom with king-sized bedding and en-suite bathroom facilities. All suites offer large amounts of space and are all luxuriously appointed in terms of decor.
The en-suite bathrooms are open plan with bathtub, double indoor showers, outdoor shower, his and her hand basins and flushing toilet.
All suites are positioned in a way that the ultimate in privacy is ensured.
Cuisine and Wine
The cuisine is excellent, starting with breakfast, game drive snacks, a large brunch, high tea, sundowners snacks and finally dinner. This is a normal days fare of truly delectable cuisine that will satisfy even the most critical of guests.
A team of chefs stir up magic in the kitchen like no other camp, meals are varied daily with only the finest and freshest ingredients used.
Dining locations are weather dependent with either indoor, outdoor and boma options available, for some added romance private dinners can be arranged on your suites viewing deck.
The central guest area is raised so that wildlife surrounding the camp is easily spotted one matter where one is positioned. Furnishings in the lounge, dining room, library and bar areas are of the highest quality as one would expect.
Evenings are spent on the viewing deck that comes complete with firepit and the most stunning of views.
Two plunges pools sun-loungers are available for those hot summer days.
The Mombo concession offers huge concentrations of plains game and predators; in fact, it is widely accepted that the Mombo concession is one of the best in the whole of Africa. When visiting one can most certainly anticipate wildlife sightings including; lion, leopard, wild dog, spotted hyena, large herds of buffalo and elephant to mention only a few.
Morning and afternoon game drives are led by highly experienced guides and trackers (some of the best in the business).
Prepare yourself for some of the best game drives in Africa.
Families with kids over 12 years old are most welcome. Mombo is unfenced and dangerous wildlife does enter the camp; it is with this that we suggest one stays within the lodges guidelines of 12 years and above.
