Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pretoria
- Check-in at Rovos Rail Station, Pretoria.
- Full-day tour of Pretoria and Soweto.
- Transfer to Rovos Rail Station.
- The train departs for Nelspruit for our overnight stop.
Day 2: Mpumalanga
- Full-day panorama tour of Pilgrim’s Rest, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window.
- Return to the train in Nelspruit and depart for Malelane.
Day 3: Kruger Area
- Full-day game viewing in the Kruger Park.
- Return to the train in Malelane and depart for Mozambique.
Day 4: Mozambique
- City tour of Maputo, Mozambique.
- Return to the train for afternoon tea.
- After border formalities, the train heads for Mpaka in Swaziland.
Day 5: Swaziland
- Depart in vehicles from Mpaka, Swaziland.
- Visit Ngwenya Glass, Mbabane and Manzini.
- After border formalities at Tjaneni, rejoin the train in Kaapmuiden.
- Depart for Klaserie near Hoedspruit in Limpopo.
Day 6: Kruger Area
- Morning game drive in Kapama Game Reserve followed by a visit to the Wild Dog and Cheetah Project.
- Return to the train for lunch.
- The train departs for Tzaneen with an overnight stop at Louis Trichardt.
Day 7: Zimbabwe
- Day on board the train travelling to Rutenga in Zimbabwe.
- Clear customs and immigration at Beitbridge.
Day 8: Zimbabwe
- Transfer to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins for a tour.
- Return to the train in Bannockburn.
- Depart for Somabhula for our overnight stop.
Day 9: Zimbabwe
- Full day at Antelope Park.
- Optional extras include canoeing, game drive, horseback game viewing, elephant-back riding and a bird-watching cruise.
- Return to the train and depart for Bulawayo.
Day 10: Zimbabwe
- Full-day tour of Matobo National Park.
- Visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes as well as bushmen caves.
- Return to the train and depart for Dete.
Day 11: Zimbabwe
- Full-day game viewing in Hwange Game Reserve, Zimbabwe.
- The train departs for Thompson’s Junction.
Day 12: Zimbabwe
- Arrive Victoria Falls Station.
- Check out of the train and walk across to Victoria Falls Hotel (luggage will be stored here).
- Meet for a walking tour of the village and the falls.
- Meet at the hotel for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.
- Transfer back to Victoria Falls Hotel.
- Tour ends.
