The main hotel building dates back to 1859, and it is here that one will find the restaurant, bar, swimming pool as well as a luxurious selection of contemporary-styled rooms and suites.
On the opposite side of the street from the main hotel, there are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. These rooms surround a courtyard with a small plunge pool.
Tulbagh is just 90 minutes drive from Cape Town and is nestled at the foot of the Witzenburg, Winterhoek and Obiqua Mountains in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
Rooms and Suites
The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel offers up 16 suites and rooms in total all of which are luxuriously appointed with air-conditioning and all are en-suite with either bath or showers.
The Honeymoon Suite is the largest, and if you are looking for space, this is the suite to look at. All other rooms and suite offer ample size, and each one has different decor from each other.
Cuisine and Wine
The Olive Terrace offers à la carte dining which can be enjoyed al fresco either on the terrace under the White Karee tree or in the tranquil and secluded courtyard. The period dining room is spacious with large open fires to ward off the winter chill.
Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner; the menu is a celebration of South African flavours using locally-sourced seasonal fruits and vegetables.
