If you take in one 'treat' activity while in Cape Town - make it a Helicopter Flight over the city!
We took our treat on a calm, sunny day in January - the skies couldn't have been any bluer.

Pre-booking one's helicopter flight is essential, and if the weather is not cooperative, you'll be rescheduled to another time that suits both parties. Try to arrive early for your briefing and maybe a sneaky glass of bubbles while you wait for your pilot.
We took off from NAC at the V&A Waterfront, easy to find and easy parking, but you can get a taxi or Uber here, no problem. The staff are inviting, and even if you're not 100% sure about flying, they ease you into this great experience over the Mother City.

We shared our helicopter with another couple, but private flights are available for an additional cost. Even if you're sitting in the middle, the views are still spectacular - there's no missing Table Mountain, Cape Town Stadium and the Sea Point Promenade.
Although not whale season, we were rewarded with the sight of a couple of small pods and, of course, dolphins making their dash through the waters below. The glistening waters give way to the shores of Robben Island off to our right and the inner city suburbs of Greenpoint and Seapoint to our left.

Our 12-13 minute flight took us from the V&A Waterfront precinct, out over the coastline and along to Camps Bay Beach - with the 12 Apostles standing tall as we turned for the return leg. Of course, there are longer flights; further around the peninsula to Hout Bay, down to Cape Point and even out to the Cape Winelands for lunch.
Although all too soon your flight is over, it really is an incredible experience. So whether you're in Cape Town for 1 night or 7 - you should be able to squeeze in a treat to cap off your time in this epic city...
