Day 1: Port Elizabeth to Graaff-Reinet
- Your journey begins from leaving the Karoo town of Beaufort West.
- It's a short drive to Graaff-Reinet and this now puts you in the Camdeboo region of the Karoo, Eastern Cape.
- 1 night at The Drostdy Hotel in a Standard Room on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: Valley of Desolation, Camdeboo National Park, Palaeontological Discoveries, Nieu Bethesda, Galleries and Museums
- Distance: 205kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 2.00 hours

Day 2: Graaff-Reinet to Kimberly
- Time to head north!
- This will be be one of the long days of driving, but will take you almost half way to your next destination. Overnight in Kimberly and perhaps some sight-seeing?
- 1 night at the Protea Hotel Kimberley in a Standard Room on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: The Big Hole, Diamond Mines.
- Distance: 500-580kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 6.30 hours

Days 3 - 4: Kimberly to Pilanesberg
- Another big day of driving through the heart of the Northern Cape.
- Finally arriving in the North-West and Pilanesberg Game Reserve your home for the next few nights.
- 2 nights at KwaMaritane in a Standard Room on a Dinner, bed and Breakfast Basis + 1 guided game drive per day.
- Highlights: Fantastic wildlife, the Big 5 and incredible birding.
- Distance: 530kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 6.30 hours

Day 5: Pilanesberg to Lesedi
- Morning guided game drive and after breakfast, check out and head to Lesedi Cultural Village.
- You may opt to travel via the Ndebele Village at Klipgat.
- Take the scenic route via Vaalkop Dam Nature Reserve.
- 1 night in the Lesedi Cultural Village – Full Board and Cultural Experience.
- Highlights: Cultural Village and scenic sights.
- Distance: 130kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 2.30 hours

Day 6: Lesedi to Midrand
- After checking out, spend some time sight seeing in the city of Pretoria, before an overnight in the Midrand area (between Pretoria and Johannesburg).
- 1 night at Irene Country Lodge in a Standard Room on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: Union Buildings, Voortrekker Monument, Church Square, Palace of Justice, Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Administration Building of the University of Pretoria.
- Distance: 70 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 1.20 hours

Day 7: Midrand to Hazyview
- Within 4-5 hours you can be in the heart of the Panorama Route and Hazyview.
- Explore this region for all that it has on offer.
- 1 night at Chestnut Country Lodge in a Standard Room on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: Pilgrims Rest, Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Bourke's Lucke Potholes, Three Rondavals
- Distance: 400 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 5.00 hours

Days 8 - 10: Hazyview to Timbavati
- Time to head off into the African bush and go on safari.
- Heading into the Timbavati Game Reserve, you have the nest three nights at Umlani Bush Camp.
- 3 nights at the fantastic Umlani Bush Camp in a Thatched Chalet on a Fully inclusive Basis (3 meals, game drives, optional bush walk, all local brand drinks).
- Highlights: Timbavati Game Reserve, Birdlife and wildlife.
- Distance: 150 kms – part of this is in the Timbavati Reserve – speed restrictions will apply.
- Approx. Drive Time: 3.30 hours

Days 11 - 12: Timbavati to Sabi Sand
- Heading out of the Timbavati, experience a couple of nights on safari in the Sabi Sand.
- 2 nights at Umkumbe Safari Lodge in a Standard Chalet on a Fully Inclusive Basis (all meals, game walks and game drives, teas & coffees).
- Highlights: The famed Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
- Distance: 120 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 3.20 hours

Day 13: Sabi Sand to Nkomazi (Via Swaziland)
- After morning game drive and breakfast, check out and head south towards the Swaziland Border.
- Your overnight is at Nkomazi Wilderness Reserve.
- 1 night at Nkomazi in a Standard Tent on a Fully Inclusive Basis (all meals, afternoon game drive, morning game drive, nature walks and tracking, fly fishing for yellow fish, mountain biking, selected beverages, return transfers between welcome lounge and lodge).
- Highlights: Swaziland, Markets and Swazi candles.
- Distance: 235 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 4.50 hours

Days 14 - 15: Nkomazi to St. Lucia
- After morning game viewing activity and breakfast, check out and onward to St. Lucia.
- 2 nights in the Elephant Coast Guesthouse in a Standard Room on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Boat Cruises, Birding, Whale Watching and Turtle Tracking (in season).
- Distance: 425 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 5.50 hours

Day 16: St. Lucia to Fugitive's Drift
- Heading inland towards the famed Natal Battlefields of Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana.
- The Battlefields Region of northern KwaZulu-Natal is filled with history and culture.
- 1 night at Kwa George at Fugitive's Drift Lodge in a Standard Cottage on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Note: if you have the opportunity, we would highly recommend a 2 night stay.
- Highlights: Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana.
- Distance: 350 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 3.30 hours

Days 17 - 18: Fugitive's Drift to Drakensberg
- The Central Drakensberg is next on the cards.
- 2 nights The Cavern in a Standard Room on a Full Board Basis (three meals daily, teas and most activities; access to our exceptional wilderness through guided walks; TV - Lounges (SABC & M-Net) and picnic lunches when requested).
- Highlights: Trekking and Hiking, Birding, Bushman Rock Paintings, Royal Natal National Park and The Amphitheatre.
- Distance: 220 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 3.40 hours

Day 19: Drakensberg to Port Shepstone
- Leaving the Drakensberg behind you, head to the coast and Port Shepstone for overnight.
- 1 night at the La Providence Guest Lodge in a Standard Room on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: Beaches and the warm Indian Ocean.
- Distance: 400 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 4.30 hours

Days 20 - 21: Port Shepstone to Transkei
This is a big day of driving, but the N2 through the Transkei takes is some majestic scenery.
2 nights at Crawfords Beach Lodge in a Standard room on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: Wild Coast, rural South Africa.
- Distance: 520 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 6.45 hours

Day 22: Transkei to Port Elizabeth
- After check out, continue along the coast to Port Elizabeth.
- 1 night at Singra in a Standard room on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: Market Square, Board-walk, Donkin Reserve, Fort Frederick.
- Distance: 340 kms
- Approx. Drive Time: 4.30 hours

Days 23 - 24: Port Elizabeth to Plettenberg Bay
- Continue along the N2 from Port Elizabeth to the heart of the Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay.
- One of South Africa’s top holiday destinations awaits with stunning views and beaches.
- 1 night at that stunning Robberg Beach Lodge (bed and breakfast basis).
- Highlights: Elephant Sanctuary, Plettenberg Bay Nature Reserve, Mitchell's Brewery and Oysters, Hiking Trails, Monkey Land and Featherbed Nature Reserve.
- Distance: 300 kms

Day 25: Plettenberg Bay to Arniston
- Leaving the Garden Route behind, take a slow drive to the coastal town of Arniston on the Cape Overberg coastline.
- 1 night Arniston Beach Hotel and Spa in a Standard Pool Room on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Highlights: Pristine Beaches, Nature Reserves, Spa Facilities and the most Southern tip of Africa.
- Distance: 400 kms

Days 26 - 28: Arniston to Cape Town (Via Hermanus)
- Departing for Cape Town one transverse the majestic Overberg region of South Africa.
- Stopping at Hermanus en-route Cape Town is a must, a chance to spot whales is on the cards (in season).
- 3 nights at the Cape Milner Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
- The days are spent exploring all that Cape Town and the surrounding winelands have to offer.
- Highlights: Cape Point, V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Camps Bay, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek to mention only but a few.

Day 29: South Africa Adventure Self Drive Safari ends
- Your self drive safari through South Africa has come to an end.
- After your breakfast, depart for Cape Town International Airport and onward to your next destination or home.
