Introduction
Situated in the southwestern area of the 75 000 hectares "Big Five" and Malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve one gets the chance to visit Motswiri Safari Lodge.
A thatched safari lodge that is hidden in a small forest of mature leadwood trees that offers guests an exclusive stay in only five luxury suites (and 1x three bedroomed private villa) surrounded by Africa's fabled wildlife.
The views from the lodge are outstanding, from the viewing deck one looks out over a waterhole onto the surrounding bushveld and out over the Madikwe and into Botswana.
Motswiri is all about understated elegance and luxury with experienced and friendly staff that makes for one fantastic safari stay.
The lodge is family friendly, all ages are welcome.

Rooms and Suites
Safari Suites; 5 large luxury safari suites offer interiors that have been skillfully designed to blend open spaces and bush, utilizing retractable doors and windows. Each suite has air-conditioning, ceiling fan, gas fireplace, beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower and private wooden decks.
Luxury Family Villa; The Luxury Family Villa is a fully equipped unit that can be booked as a self-catering option or full board option. The villa has three bedrooms all en-suite with air-conditioning, which lead onto a private lounge area, then onto a private deck and pool.
Cuisine and Wine
Excellent cuisine is served in the indoor dining room, outside under trees on the main deck, or around a roaring fire in the boma. These locations are seasonal and/or weather dependent.
It is impossible to get hungry at Motswiri; breakfast, brunch, high tea and a 3-course dinner.
The bar area is where one can find cold beers, an excellent wine list and quite a few variates of other alcohol, again the bar area overlooks the waterhole.
Lodge Facilities
Enjoy the rim-flow pool overlooking the waterhole; this is where relief from summers scorching heat can be found. The main deck is where one has the chance to sip a cocktail under the shade of the Motswiri trees (Leadwood in Tswana).
All of this overlooks a small yet very active waterhole where the chance of sighting many of Madikwe's wildlife and birdlife is very real.
WiFi is available in and around the central lodge area, being in the bush the signal is not very strong (good enough for chats and email though).
Safari Activities
Twice daily game drives (early morning and mid-afternoon) in the surrounding "Big 5" reserve. The professional guides and trackers offer their excellent bush knowledge of everything from bushes to tree to insects to mammals and birdlife.
A range of spa treatments including of a full body, back and neck massage can be enjoyed in the privacy of guests rooms. Manicures and pedicures are also available.
Family Friendly
At Motswiri, family is important, therefore children of all ages are more than welcome.
Special activity packs, walks and kiddies meals are provided, with a babysitting service available on request (at very reasonable rates).
