Africa on Foot is one of the most affordable, authentic safari camps located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in the Kruger. The lodge and guides specialise in professional Big Five walking safaris and focus on tracking predators & other big game; as well as educating guests about the local fauna and flora.

On a walking safari guests will be led by experienced and professional game rangers through a wildlife area rich in game including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo as well as hyena, hippo, giraffe, zebra and a whole host of other wildlife.

In addition to walking safaris, Big 5 game drives and night drives are offered allowing guests to participate in a full spectrum of safari activities.

Rooms & Suites:

This Kruger Walking Camp offers guests a choice of 5 chalets and a treehouse in which to stay, which is an adventurous option for guests who want to spend a night in the wilderness.

Two of the chalets are family units, which have 2 adjoining bedrooms and room for 4 people in double and twin beds. All rooms are of the same standard with ensuite bathrooms, mosquito nets, a clothing rack, bedside tables, solar powered lamps, and bathroom toiletries.

Food & Wine:

Guests generally enjoy evening drinks and a traditional South African braaivleis (barbecue) cooked over the open fire.

There is a bar onsite complete with local beers, wine, soft drinks and spirits.

The Greater Kruger area can get very hot in summer and thankfully the camp has a beautiful splash pool complete with decking and deck chairs. Often, elephants come to the pool and stick their trunks into the water to drink.

There is wireless internet connection at Africa on Foot to keep guests connected to the outside world, but to truly immerse yourself in the rustic bush experience, the camp is run on solar power and there are ambient lanterns decorating camp.

Each Walking Safari lasts about from 2-3 hours and begins with a comprehensive demonstration on how to behave when encountering animals. All Walking Safaris are led by qualified rangers who have had intensive specialized training in approaching dangerous game.

In the evenings, guests are taken on game drive, which brings you a lot closer to big game. The night drives allow guests the opportunity to see the nocturnal animals not encountered during the day.
