Rooms and Suites
River Lodge's 64 spacious suites (made up of Standard suites, Spa suites, Family suites and Royal suites) all offer uninterrupted views over the Kapama Big Five game reserve.
Lavish amenities, private verandahs, air-conditioned areas and en-suite bathrooms come as standard.
Each and every suite comes with a fully stocked mini bar, coffee and tea-making facilities, as well as a safe, hairdryer and international plugs.
Cuisine and Wine
Three completely different dining venues are on offer;
- The Romantic dining area with a difference positioned in a dry river bed under a canopy of African Stars.
- The Rhino Boma with its roaring fire offers up buffet pan-African dishes from a classic African Menu.
- The Siyatla Lounge is where one enjoys breakfasts and lunches, glass doors open up onto the surrounding bush and there are two large fireplaces for those cold winter days.
Lodge Facilities
The lounge areas within River Lodge adorn African artefacts everywhere one looks.
A spectacular rim-flow pool with recliners is positioned in front of the lounge area overlooking a wildlife-rich waterhole. This is a great place to relax and unwind between your morning and afternoon game activities.
The magnificent wine cellar (with over 600 bottles) is home to some of South Africa's finest wines. With the exception of French champagne, all the wines and sparkling Méthode Cap Classiques are from choice South African vineyards.
Safari Activities
Included in the rate when staying at any of the Kapama lodges are two daily game drives and a bushwalking experience. Both these activities are led by highly trained guides and trackers ensuring a safe yet knowledgeable safari experience.

Spa and Wellness
Kapama is now taking the concept of the safari spa to new heights; two spa facilities are available for guests staying within the reserve, i.e., the Karula Spa or the River Lodge Spa.
Karula Spa offers four treatment rooms, a fitness centre, steam room, and a pool with built-in loungers and underwater jets.
River Lodge Spa offers six treatment rooms, mini gym, and pool all overlooking a waterhole.
Dermalogica and Matisse are used for all treatments and massages.
