Two Oceans Aquarium
When we are asked for advice from clients on "what to do and see" when in Cape Town. The Two Oceans Aquarium is always (and I mean always) in the top 10. The reason being is that it is the perfect half day out for both families and adults alike.
The Aquarium offers visitors 88 aquatic species with over 3000 sea creatures from both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans for your viewing pleasure all within seven distinct exhibits.
An ideal destination for families as the kids can learn and play all at once; there is a "play centre" with Arts and crafts and puppet shows available. The Nemo exhibit is very popular with the little ones who can enter the exhibit and look all around (perfect for family photos).
The Two Oceans is located within the V&A Waterfront precinct with fantastic views out over the working Cape Town harbour on one side and Table Mountain in the distance on the other.
- Pros; The kids will love it; The adults will love it, The Predator Exhibit and the Penguins (oh and the ice cream shop when exiting).
- Cons; It is all over way too quickly.
Ticket prices are as follows (as of April 2016);
- Open all year round
- Adult - R135.00
- Child (14 - 17 years) - R100.00
- Child (4 - 13 years) - R65.00
- Child under 4 - Free
For bookings, it is best to pre book in the summer months via their website Two Oceans Aquarium or phone them on +27 (021)418 3823.
The Two Oceans Aquarium received the 2015 Traveler's Choice Award from TripAdvisor; I think that pretty much sums up how nice a place to visit this is.
All photographs have been taken by us here at Uyaphi.com with the sole purpose of showcasing the Aquarium from our point of view.
