Selati Offers Up An Authentic African Safari Camp Experience In The Sabi Sabi
Sabi Sabi Selati Camp, created initially without electricity to preserve the ambience, now has overhead fans and air-conditioning, while the camp is still lit at night by the gentle flicker of oil lamps, the warm glow of fires and the spectacular canopy of the Southern night sky.
The intimate all-suite Selati Camp, furnished with a historical Railway theme and 19th-century charm, meticulously created as an authentic home in the bush, is the most unforgettable of all African experiences.
Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve is situated within one of the oldest and largest proclaimed private reserves in Africa - the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
The reserve with diverse habitats hosts some 200 species of wildlife, including lion, leopard, rhino, Cape buffalo, elephant, cheetah, wild dog. Selati Camp offers those interested in birding a listing of a remarkable 350 species recorded.
Exceptional game viewing has always been a trademark of Sabi Sand Game Reserve, and Sabi Sabi is certainly no exception.
Rooms and Suites
Selati Camp offers guests eight luxurious thatched suites with king-sized beds, a small lounge area, private verandahs and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor bathtubs and showers.
All suites are perfect for guests who are after a romantic yet private safari lodge hidden deep in the Sabi Sand Reserve.
Looking for something exceptional when at Selati Camp? Then look no further than the Lourenco Marques Honeymoon Suite or the Ivory Presidential Suite (which includes a private safari vehicle); the wow factor of these two options is off the charts.
Cuisine and Wine
All cuisine is served on decks of Selati built over the riverbed, in the open air "boma" or in the "farmhouse kitchen" at Sabi Sabi Selati Camp.
A large swimming pool and spacious and shaded viewing decks are the perfect areas at which to sit back and relax, watch wildlife or catch up on some sun tanning.
The main guest areas are all under thatch and offer up a small lounge and an indoor dining area.
Morning and evening game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles are part and parcel of one's safari experience in the Game Reserve. All safaris a led by highly qualified guides and trackers.
After morning game drives and breakfast, should you desire, there are short walking safari options on the cards. A great way to stretch those legs while viewing Africa's wildlife and birdlife on foot.
Afternoon into evening game drives is, in our opinion, the highlight. En route, stopping for sundowners and being witness to how the bushveld and wildlife behaviour changes once the night falls.
Spa and Wellness
An Amani Spa is available for guests at Bush Lodge and Earth Lodge; treatments and massages are available, ranging from 30-minute facials to 4.5-hour massages.
Staying at any of the other Sabi Sabi Lodges is no problem. Simply book a treatment or massage when as Sabi Sabi Selati Camp, and a vehicle will transfer you to Bush or Earth Lodge.
