An Intimate Singita Lodge Positioned On The Banks Of The Sweni River In The Kruger National Park
The intimate and luxurious Singita Sweni Lodge is tucked into the banks of the Sweni on the edge of the Lebombo Mountains. A hidden gem that offers visitors contemporary design, architecture and cuisine, all within the surrounds of a magnificent wildlife destination.
Without question, one of a handful of the best South Africa luxury lodge options available today.
Being so close to the river's edge, guests are treated to an incredible number of wildlife and birdlife sightings year-round.
Singita Sweni Lodge is, without question, of our favourite lodges within the Kruger National Park, South Africa, one of the top destinations in Africa for safaris. No one has yet to match the levels of service, luxury and wildlife other than the other Singita lodges.
Panoramic game-viewing decks, outdoor daybeds and the size of the safari rooms make this intimate lodge a great choice for honeymooners or couples. While the views from the suites and main guest area are breathtaking, the wine cellar and outstanding cuisine really set this lodge apart from her peers.
The Singita concession in the Kruger National Park is one of Africa's most renowned wildlife sanctuaries. The private concession spans 33,000 acres and is home to an abundance of wildlife ("Big Five") and birdlife.
In particular, the area is well-known for its four formidable prides of lions. These majestic creatures are often the subject of National Geographic documentaries.
Visitors to the Singita concession can expect to see an array of wildlife in their natural habitat, making a stay at Singita Sweni a truly once-in-a-lifetime safari experience.
Rooms and Suites
There are six luxury suites at Singita Sweni Lodge, each with an open-plan lounge and sleeping area decorated with African artefacts, leather and khaki.
Luxury suites with floor-to-ceiling glass walls consist of luxurious bathrooms, an exquisite bathtub with views, indoor and outdoor showers, an expansive living area, and private wooden leisure decks overlooking the Sweni River.
All room options and areas are air-conditioned and also offer the option of ceiling fans.
Should one wish, staff at Sweni can set up a day bed outside on the wooden deck for a romantic night under the Kruger National Park stars.
A new 'Pool Suite' is available; this 1-bedroomed suite offers the same levels of attention as the six accommodation options above, with the difference being a private swimming pool. This Villa Suite can be connected to the adjoining suite to create a two-bedroomed (with two bathrooms) option perfect for families.
Cuisine and Wine
Guests at Singita Sweni Lodge encounter something truly original: cuisine inspired by African flavours and yet guided by the Western culinary tradition.
Menus cater to both the adventurous and more conservative food tastes, and all special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
Ask to visit the wine cellar, where you will find an extensive array of some of South Africa's finest wines.
The intimate lodge facilities at Singita Sweni Lodge include a swimming pool, wellness centre and gym facilities, The Boutique Shop and Gallery, and complimentary internet (Wi-Fi) access.
Guests enjoy stunning views of the Sweni River and the surrounding Kruger National Park bushveld from the central guest area, dining room and swimming pool.
The lodge also offers a variety of activities and excursions, including game drives, bird watching, and bush walks, all of which depart from the main lodge area.
Guests at Singita Sweni Lodge have access to a wide range of safari activities, all with expert guides and trackers, including early morning, late afternoon or full-day game drives, night drives and guided bush walks.
All Singita safari activities are conducted in the private Singita concession with the central-western region of Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Midday, guests can relax around the swimming pool, go for a spa and wellness treatment or walk around the lodge and photograph the surrounding wildlife and birdlife.
Singita Lebombo Lodge is a short walk away should one want a different perspective of the surrounding African bushveld.
Birds and wildlife sightings in the area are nothing short of spectacular.
Children of all ages are welcome at Sweni Lodge. Although we would suggest, the safari lodge is more suitable for children over the age of 12 years to take it all in.
Cuisine, food, accommodation and activities can all be tailored around your family's tastes and preferences.
Bear in mind that Malaria does occur in this region of the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Spa and Wellness
Treatments are enjoyed in the seclusion of a dedicated Spa area between Singita Lebombo Lodge and Singita Sweni Lodge, or on a private deck and even an option of treatment in the comfort of your own suite.
Treat yourself to at least one spa session during your stay; we did and can highly recommend "The African Experience" de-stress from the signature treatments list, 120 minutes of pure bliss.
The best wellness facilities within the entire Kruger National Park. A small but well-kitted out fitness center is available to all guests.
Treatments are available for children over 12 years of age.

Greater Kruger Family Safari
"How many more sleeps?” this became our son's wake-up call as the days neared his first ‘safari’ to the Greater Kruger National Park.
James and I had decided to combine a bit of family time with a quick update of the 'family friendly safari lodges' in the greater Kruger area.
My 4 Day Kruger Adventure
My 4-Day Kruger Adventure was one of the highlights of my travelling; having not visited the area for such a long time, the Kruger National Park was stunning.
Leaving Cape Town and flying north to OR Tambo and then a 5-hour drive to the Kruger from where we stayed in parks board accommodation.
