As a general rule of thumb, consider the whole of Tanzania a "high risk "malaria zone. We highly recommend that one does consult a doctor, pharmacist or travel clinic before travelling to this area, prophylaxis will be required when on safari.
Higher lying areas over 2000m including; Ngorongoro crater rim, Mt Kilimanjaro and parts of the Eastern Arc Mountains are in the "Low risk" bracket.
