Zanzibar Serena Hotel is located on the sea front of Stone Town that offers guests the grandeur of days past set in two combined historic buildings. Without question one of the more popular Stone Town Hotel options out there, as well offering an exceptional night out at the the Baharia Restaurant.
Stone Town is a legendary place full of old palaces with intricately carved doors and colorful spice and fruit markets. This is more of a historic hotel in a historic town from were one is based to explore, we would not consider this a beach hotel.
Each room at Zanzibar Serena Hotel is cool, white and constructed to the traditional design of a Swahili house with high ceilings. A wide range of rooms and suite are available including standard rooms, prime rooms and suites.
All rooms and suite offer the following;
- 24-hour room service
- Air-conditioning
- Wi-Fi
- Direct-dial phone
- Satellite TV,
- Mini bar
- Private safe
- Hair driers
- Mosquito nets
- Bathrobe and slippers
- Umbrellas
Zanzibar cuisine blends freshly caught seafood, fresh spices, luscious fruit and delicately flavored vegetables. breakfasts at the hotel are a scrumptious affair of fruits, African dishes, traditional pastries, cold meats and of course bacon and eggs.
Although the Zanzibar Serena Hotel does have a in-house restaurant, we would highly recommend you eat at one of the more historic restaurants in Stone Town itself. Not that the in-house restaurant is bad, but rather the thought process is of "one does not travel half way around the world to have dinner in a hotel".
The hotel does have a few fantastic bars with stunning views.
