A Safari Camp In The Heart Of Botswana's Kalahari, Experience Wildlife And Culture At Dinaka
Newly refurbed and re-opened under new management, Dinaka Camp is located on the very edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in its own 200km² private game reserve. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve offers up some of the best bio diversities in southern Africa, especially in the summer months with the annual; zebra and wildebeest migration.
The Kalahari is a unique setting with spectacular desert wildlife, birdlife, amazing sunrises and sunsets that are unique to the world that surrounds. Desert wildlife includes oryx, brown hyena, honey badger, Kalahari lion, and springbok to mention only but a few.
A setting where families and couples will feel equally at home, a romantic lodge at heart, pair Dinaka with a stay at Kanana, Okuti or Shinde and one is in for a Botswana safari like very few others can come close to offering.
Rooms and Suites
Seven large thatched safari tents at Dinaka Camp are perfect for couples or friends travelling together. All are on raised wooden decks with twin or king-sized bedding, spacious en-suite bathroom facilities (both indoor and outdoor showers) and a viewing deck.
Two 2-bedroomed tented suites are available for families, ideal for keeping a family of 4 under one roof while on safari in the Kalahari.
All suites at Dinaka overlook a permanent waterhole that does attract a fair amount of wildlife and birdlife.
A "Sleep Out Deck" offers Dinaka guests a panoramic view of the sunrises and sunsets and the opportunity to spend the night under the magnificent African night sky. A two-storey wooden platform with a table, chairs, and bedding is the chance to experience the sights and sounds of the Kalahari safe and sound in the knowledge that one is safe from the surrounding wildlife.
Cuisine and Wine
Meals at Dinaka Camp are up there with the same standards set by her sister camps; Kanana, Okuti and Shinde. In a nutshell, no matter the time of the day, one is in for a right royal treat.
Camp Facilities
The central guest area looms large as the Kalahari Desert stretches out in all directions, Dinaka Camp with a large thatched roof and wooden flooring. This is an area that hides all from the heat of the Kalahari all the while showcasing modern African decor.
A swimming pool with sun loungers is the spot popular for escaping the heat as well as just plain old relaxing when at Dinaka.
