Reserve Information
The famed Thornybush Game Reserve offers visitors one of South Africa's most exceptional bush experiences. Adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Thornybush comprises of 14 000 hectares of pristine wilderness that is teaming with wildlife and birdlife including the "Big 5".
Unspoilt nature and those stunning vistas of the surrounding African bushveld is what a safari here is all about, not forgetting the wildlife on show. Thornybush is up there with the best private reserves not only in South Africa but Southern Africa as a whole.
Rooms and Suites
Thornybush Game Lodge with 18 luxury suites all with stunning views out over the seasonal Monwana River and into the Thornybush Reserve.
Two family suites are available; these suites offer that little bit more regarding space and comfort. A sleeper couch for the kids, a larger viewing deck with a private plunge pool are what sets these suites apart.
All 20 stylish suites, each will en-suite bathroom that includes baths and outdoor showers, private viewing decks all wrapped in air-conditioned comfort.
Cuisine and Wine
Enjoy sumptuous meals for all tastes, either in the boma, out in the bush or the dining area within the lodge. In the evening, guests can socialise with a cognac, single malt or cigar around the campfire or lounge.
Cadle lit dinners for the romantics out there are on offer.
Lodge Facilities
The thatched central guest area at Thornybush Game Lodge is the perfect spot to take advantage of those huge wooden viewing decks, sit back and watch the wildlife, read a book from the library or cool off in the swimming pool.

Safari Activities
Game drives with experienced guides and tracker take place twice daily, the morning drive starts at the crack of dawn while the afternoon drive leaves in the late afternoon returning when the sun has set.
Should one in interested, game walks after breakfast/ brunch are tailored to suit one's interests and fitness levels. A great way not only to stretch your legs but also to experience all the knowledge that the Shangaan trackers one surrounding wildlife, birdlife, trees, plants, insects and local history and culture.
