This tented camp is the ideal African safari destination for those seeking a combination of wildlife and culture, a destination that is perfect for photographers, families, couples, as well as honeymooners.
The tented camp is located in the exclusive 18700-acre Ol Kinyei Conservancy borders and is open to the National Reserve; wildlife moves freely between the two reserves.
A small, intimate safari camp with just 6 tented suites. All tents are spacious and tastefully furnished in classic safari style.
The camp offers a range of activities to discover the Masai Mara National Reserve and its wildlife, including morning and afternoon game drives, night game drives, guided bush walks and bush breakfasts.
With outstanding guides, authentic experiences, and exclusive access to the Ol Kinyei wildlife sanctuary, the camp offers an unforgettable safari and wildlife experience.
Mara Porini Camp is open all year round so that you can experience the beauty of the Mara in any season.
For the exact location of the camp, please see the map at the bottom of the page.
Rooms and Suites
Mara Porini Camp offers up to five luxury tented suites, all located in the shade of Yellow-Barked Acacia trees along the side of the Laetoli spring.
The spacious guest tents are large in design, with each one having a covered verandah, twin or king-sized beds, and en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilets, hand basins and shower areas.
A small and intimate camp that accommodates a maximum of 12 guests at any one time.
A family tented suite is available; this option offers up two interconnecting tented suites, perfect for a family or small group of friends travelling together.
Cuisine and Wine
Food is excellent at Mara Porini Camp with home-baked bread, fresh salads and high-quality meals prepared by the Chef. The camp chef uses only the freshest ingredients available to prepare high-quality meals and even home-baked bread.
Dinners and breakfasts are, in particular, oh-so-yummy.
The camp rates include all meals and drinks (vodka, gin & tonics, wine, beer, sodas and mineral water).
One of the highlight experiences when out on safari is the "Bush breakfast".
Facilities
The central guest area at Mara Porini Camp is under canvas and offers an indoor dining and bar area with a small lounge and library.
Outdoors, a shaded/covered dining area and a fire pit are available for meals depending on how the weather is behaving.
Activities
Within the Ol Kinyei conservancy, guests enjoy morning, evening and night game drives, sundowners at scenic viewing points and escorted walks with Maasai guides and, of course, a bush breakfast.
From Mara Porini Camp, one also has the opportunity to book a Hot Air Balloon Safari or a cultural visit to Maasai village.
Game drives in custom safari vehicles are not confined only to the Ol Kinyei but also to the Masai Mara National Reserve itself and the bordering Naboisho Conservancy.
Child Friendly
Mara Porini does most certainly welcome families with children, although we suggest that kids of 10 years and upwards would be best suited for a wildlife camp like this (the camp is not fenced in).
Suitable family accommodation is available, although with only one family suite available, booking well in advance is recommended.
If there are any fussy eaters on board, please advise, and we will make sure the chef knows beforehand so that they can prepare a suitable menu.
In Conclusion
Mara Porini Camp offers an unforgettable safari experience in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, located on the border of Masai Mara National Reserve.
The camp is known for its excellent guiding and offers a range of activities, including morning and afternoon game drives, night game drives, guided bush walks, and bush breakfasts.
