The safari camp overlooks the Sand River, the endless plains and the grassy hills of the Masai Mara. Year-round wildlife sightings are nothing short of excellent but should one wish to view the annual migration, the months of August, September, and October are best (the camp lies on the northerly route of the migration).
Elewana Sand River is divided into two separate camps for a more intimate and private experience, each camp offers up its own designated dining and public areas.
Elewana Sand River Masai Mara camp offers guests the choice of 16 tented suites, all of which are located on the banks of the Sand River with spectacular views of both the river bed and the surrounding Masai Mara plains.
- 15x tented suites (4 twins and 11 doubles)
- 1x family suite offers 2x en-suite bedrooms
All tented suites offer large beds with mosquito netting, luxury decor, private wooden decks, en-suite bathrooms with bathtubs and outdoor showers. Other suite amenities include;

As with all Elewana lodges and camps throughout Kenya and Tanzania, the cuisine will always be of the highest standard, no matter the time of day or night.
Fresh ingredients, skilled chefs and unique dining locations, what more could one ask for when on safari in the middle of the Masai Mara.
A highlight of one's stay are the bush breakfasts and dinners out under the African stars; delicious picnic lunches are on offer should one be on a full-day game drive.
Most dietary requests can be catered for with advance notice.
The central guest area at Elewana Sand River Masai Mara overlooks the Sand River and out over the plains of the Masai Mara. A spectacular spot to spend one's time watching the passing wildlife and birdlife fluttering around in trees.
Inside the tented central guest area, one finds a lounge, small library, games room, bar area and indoor dining room. Outside, a large wooden verandah with seating offers guests stunning views out over the Sand River and Masai Mara. The swimming pool is located off to the side of the main lodge, perfect for those warm summer days.
Free WiFi is available in public areas both indoors and outdoors.
All safari activities on offer at the camp are within the Masai Mara National Reserve; cultural activities are outside the National Reserve.
For the Annual Migration, one needs to look at dates between August to October for the best front row seats to one of the greatest wildlife shows on earth.
