Elephant Pepper Bush Camp, situated right on the Northern Edge of the Masai Mara reserve this 8-tented bush camp, is tucked away in a prime wildlife area. Surrounded by the Mara's ubiquitous game, it's a seasonal camp, which is taken down for a month or so in the rainy seasons.
This Masai Mara Bush Camp has been recently refurbished and designed to attract and introduce people to an authentic Masai Mara wildlife Safari Experience.
Elephant Pepper offers a unique, comfortable environment and is aptly named after the Warburgia Ugandense tree, which is commonly known as the Elephant Pepper tree.
The true bush experience of walking and unwinding around the glowing embers of a campfire all add to the authenticity of a true bush experience. Looking from the camp across the plains one can see the 'greatest game show on earth' when the annual wildebeest migration thunders past to seek new grazing in the lush savannahs of the Masai Mara.
The 8 (4 doubles & 4 twins) spacious luxury safari tents are larger, brighter and offer more spacious bathroom areas. Combined with Indian Raj Campaign furniture, mixing dark wood with intricate brass fittings, the tents have a very classy and elegant feel. The tents are set underneath a grove of fig and Elephant Pepper Trees and are spaced out to ensure privacy. From your personal verandah or hammock, you can watch wildlife roam on the savannah plains.
Elephant Pepper Camp’s two Honeymoon / Family Tents are the ideal accommodation for couples that want extra space and privacy and for families. The spacious suites each comprise of an ensuite master bedroom and a sitting room, which can be converted into a second bedroom for children under the age of 16 years. The lush bathrooms have double washbasins, flush toilets and hot water showers.
Elephant Pepper Camp’s cuisine includes a mouth-watering combination of homemade pasta, traditional Italian recipes such as Melanzane Parmigiana and Osso Bucco, and fresh organic salads.
A barbecue by the campfire, dinner in the mess tent, or a bush breakfast on the open plains are some of the lasting memories to take home.
The Elephant Pepper Camp guides are based in camp, in the Masai Mara, and know their backyard intimately. All the guides are Bronze or Silver level Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association certified, and some of our guides have guided in this area for 20 years! Elephant Pepper has open game drive vehicles with a current fleet are new, specially fitted, 4×4 Toyota Landcruisers.
Elephant Pepper Camp offers pre-dinner game drives with red-light spotlights. Game driving at dusk and early evening opens up a whole new world often with sightings of hunting predators, aardvark.
Take the time to leave the car behind and enjoy the small things; animal tracks, flowers and micro-ecosystems all on a walk in the wilds of the Masai Mara ecosystem with a professional safari guide.
Elephant Pepper Camp is also perfect for young explorers! Patrick loves organizing fun walks for kids within the camp. Little ones will learn how to make a fire, throw a rungu, fire a bow and arrow and track wildlife. As a memento of their adventure, children can take home their very own cast from the tracks they discovered!

It was one of those rare moments where you take in the majesty of nature in complete silence, disturbing nothing, saying nothing. In Kenya last month, I had the great pleasure of a balloon safari over the Masai Mara organised by the excellent and highly professional Governors Company.Giraffe Manor Review
Located in the southern suburbs of Nairobi is an English manor house. When it was built, the country was unclaimed bush rampant with African wildlife. The home of Karen Blixen is nearby who posthumously lends her name to this suburb, Karen.Hells Gate Kenya
I had visions of being trampled by buffalo, stalked by lions, or, given the extreme humidity and daytime temperatures, falling prey to one of the thousands of vultures who call Hell's Gate National Park their home. But our guide assured me that it would be fun.
