Over this five-day, cultural safari, deep into the Western Kalahari of Botswana, we offer a fascinating insight into one of the unique cultures in the world. The mysterious Zu/'hoasi Bushmen over the years have been claimed to be a separate species (as no man could live in such a harsh environment, amongst other claims), that they can change into wild animals; this, of course, is pure nonsense and folklore.
If you have a keen interest in the world’s civilisations, this anthropological expedition is a truly unmissable experience.
Day 1: Western Kalahari
- Arrive into the Western Kalahari region by plane where we meet our guide and transfer to our camp.
- Our remote camp is located deep in the heart of ancestral gathering lands of the Zu/'hoasi Bushmen.
- The afternoon is spent meeting with the elders of the community.
- We return to camp for our first night under the Botswana Kalahari stars.
- Accommodation: Private Mobile Campsite
Days 2-4: Western Kalahari
- Over the next few days, we completely immerse ourselves in Bushman culture.
- We walk with the men learning as we go about wildlife and plant species.
- We cook with the ladies, learning open fire skills as well as make jewellery from ostrich eggs, and witness the traditional dances and rituals.
- Our time will culminate with a hunt during which you’ll track, stalk and (hopefully!) hunt down wild quarry using traditional bows and arrows.
- Accommodation: Private Mobile Campsite
Day 5: Bushmen Of The Kalahari Safari Ends
- Time to say goodbye to our new friends.
- We leave the community and make our way back to Maun for our next destination or home.
