The 10-day Botswana Blooming Desert Safari takes you through some of the most remote and pristine desert landscapes in Southern Africa. You will also get to visit the remote Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Piper's Pan, and explore the fringes of the Okavango Delta. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you won't want to miss.
Day 1: Maun To Central Kalahari Game Reserve
- Arriving at Maun Airport, you with your luggage will be transferred by charter plane to Kalahari Plains Lodge in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
- On arrival at the Kalahari Plains Camp, you will be taken to your accommodations.
- The early afternoon is at your leisure; relax in the comfort of your tent or chill out at the swimming pool; the choice is yours.
- The late afternoon is about your first proper game drive in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
- Your biggest decision tonight is to decide if you want to sleep in your tent or on top of your suite in the built-in sky bed.
- Meals: Afternoon Tea and Dinner-D

Day 2: Central Kalahari Game Reserve
- After breakfast this morning, with a walk with local San bushmen close to the camp.
- The walking tour offers an insight into the ancient San culture and their modest, courteous approach toward family, ancestors and the surrounding arid bushveld.
- An afternoon game drive is on the card; depending on how good the wildlife sightings are in the area, we hope to head out towards Khudu and Mmaphwe Pans.
- After dinner, go to the platform for an astronomy presentation.
- This region's lack of light pollution makes stargazing here in the Kalahari particularly beautiful.

Day 3: Central Kalahari Game Reserve - Pipers Pan
- After an early breakfast, we depart the lodge and drive west towards our destination, Piper's Pan, for the next few nights.
- We will spend the next 3 nights at a private campsite miles away from the nearest person.
- The total length of the drive will depend on how much we see along the way.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Mobile Camp
Day 4-5: Pipers Pan
- Piper's Pan consists of 3 main pans that are impressive in size, some of the largest pans in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
- This is the main spot for sighting Kalahari predators, including lions and leopards.
- There are a number of predators whose territories include parts of the pan, including a resident pride of lion and several leopards.
- The surrounding desert environment offers up excellent birding.
- Birding and wildlife sightings around the water hole are excellent, as are the sunsets with a beer in hand.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Mobile Camp
Day 6: Central Kalahari Game Reserve - Tau Pan
- Today we depart Piper’s Pan and head north towards Tau Pan Lodge.
- Today's route takes us through and over almost endless vegetated Kalahari dunes before arriving at the magnificent and wildlife-rich Tau Pan.
- The Tau Pan Lodge is located on a high and ancient dune and has a sweeping view of the surrounding region.
- A relaxed lunch before heading out on a game drive conducted by the lodge and their head guide.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Tau Pan Lodge
Day 7: Central Kalahari Game Reserve To The Khwai Concession
- A final morning activity in the incredible Kalahari before boarding your flight back to Maun
- Your guide will be waiting for you again, and then an interesting drive up to the Khwai Private Concession awaits.
- The differences in the habitat and wildlife between the Khwai and the Central Kalahari are instantly noticeable.
- Three nights of game viewing in this area awaits.
- Exceptions wildlife and birding is around almost every corner.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Days 8-9: The Khwai Concession
- Both bull elephants and breeding herds are found in significant numbers in the Khwai region.
- Leopards, lions, servals, and African wildcats are the most common predators in the region. Wild dogs are a rarer sight, whereas cheetahs are relatively uncommon.
- Truly one of Botswana birding Mecca's.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Mobile Camp
Day 10: Botswana Blooming Desert Safari Ends in Maun
- After saying farewell to your safari crew, your guide will take a slow drive back towards Maun on a final drive before arriving at approximately 12h00, in time for the international check-ins.
