Introduction
The Savute Camp is situated on the Savute Channel within northern Botswana, a famous waterway in an exciting state of flux. For a quarter of a century, the Savute Channel has been dry, generating wide-open grassland, home to both numbers as well as kinds of wildlife as well as a celebrated predator's enclave.
In 2008, the waters made a comeback, and Savuti Camp offers front-row seats for you to enjoy the rich game that has congregated and adapted in its wake.
Along with two-thirds of the Channel situated in the concession, visitors have got personal as well as exclusive entry to the abundant game and the natural and geological alterations of which are taking place on a day-to-day and seasonal basis.
There are usually great concentrations of plains game in the region.
Rooms and Suites
The camp's en-suite lodging is available in 7 enormous walk-in tents that are elevated off the floor; all suites face onto the Savute Channel's grasslands.
Lodge Facilities
From the camp's thatched dining area and bar, a plunge swimming pool, as well as a large observing area with fire pit, expand in an outward direction on elevated wooden patio's in the direction of the Channel, offering a fantastic perspective of the waterhole.
Safari Activities
Discover the Channel and its environments through day and night game drives; nature walks with a guide (on request), as well as numerous well-positioned hides for risk-free, up-close game watching. Savuti Camp's 'wood-pile hide' at the waterhole in front of camp is currently part of the flowing Savute and renowned for magnificent elephant viewing in the drier winter season months.
Game levels here are usually high, especially in the dry winter period, and aside from considerable plains game, species such as roan and sable antelope, southern giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyaena, black-backed jackal and wild dog may also be stumbled upon.
In winter, this particular region can also end up being outstanding for the sought-after aardvark and aardwolf, which often tend to be huge ticks on an individual's mammal lists!
