One of Botswana’s best-kept secrets, the Khwai Private Reserve is home to wildlife and birdlife rich floodplains, forests and waterways. A destination that anyone who loves the African bushveld and her wildlife will fall head over heels in love with.
Sable Alley has partnered with the local Khwai community and proceeds from staying at Sable Alley go straight back into community projects, benefitting all.
Lion, leopard, wild dog, buffalo, elephant and hundreds of antelope are part and parcel of daily life here on one of the many daily safari activities on offer by the Camp.
Rooms and Suites
Stylish, spacious and sophisticated are the three words that best describe Sable Alley Camp. With 600 square feet of private space per suite all with sliding doors, wooden decks, uninterrupted views of the lagoon and dressed in superb Afro-chic décor.
Luxurious en-suite bathrooms facilities with both indoor and outdoor shower options are found towards the rear of the suites.
Twelve spacious and luxury tented suites comprise of the following;
- 9 twin suites (twin beds can be made into king size on request)
- 1 honeymoon suite
- 2 family tented suites
Cuisine and Wine
At night, dinner is served either in the indoor dining area or alfresco on the deck, accompanied by a canopy of African stars and the sounds of the wildlife in the surrounding bushveld
All meals are well prepared using only the freshest and local produce available and are all simply delicious no matter the time of day.
The communal areas are built on raised wooden decks designed around the spectacular vistas that are on offer. It is in this area that one finds the indoor and outdoor dining areas, lounge and bar all decorated in the stunning earthly fabrics and furnishings.
The waterhole in front of the camp plays host to numerous wildlife sightings throughout the course of the day and night.
The central guest area also sports a stunning swimming pool with sundeck, from here spot wildlife or simply relax in the heat of a Botswana day.
There is no WiFi or cell phone reception at the lodge.
Safaris activities that one can participate in when staying at Sable Alley Camp;
- Morning, afternoon and evening game drives.
- Dugout canoe (mokoro) and boating safaris (water levels permitting).
- Guided game walks along the banks of the Khwai River is a must for all.
No children under the age of 6 years although saying that, Sable Alley is more suitable towards kids in their early teens (13 and upwards) as this is a more wildlife orientated safari camp offering.
