Classic Safari Camp Is Located In The Khwai Concession; Machaba Is All About Wildlife
Machaba Camp is built in the classic 1950s safari style and, more importantly, is situated in the game-rich Khwai Private Reserve and Concession, comprising no less than 35 000 hectares of some of the best wildlife and birdlife in Botswana.
Independently owned and run, a stay at Machaba Camp will appeal to both the seasoned safari traveller and those for who a safari experience is new. It is from one's private tented suites or the main central guest areas that one can view superb wildlife and birdlife without leaving the camp.
Lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, Cape buffalo, giraffe, hippo, and elephant are just a few of the wildlife species found in this Private Reserve that borders the Moremi Game Reserve.
Game drives, Mokoro and walking safaris are part and parcel of one's stay. Machaba Camp is unpretentious, authentic and, more importantly, affordable.
Rooms And Suites
Ten stunning and luxuriously appointed tented suites at Machaba are positioned on the edge of a sycamore-fig treeline overlooking the Khwai River and Moremi Game Reserve.
Each of the camp suites comprises a writing desk, a small sitting area and, of course, comfortable bedding in either twin or king-size guise. The en-suite bathroom offers up both indoor and outdoor shower options, his and her wash hand basins and a flushing toilet.
The covered veranda in front of each Machaba tented suite has a table and chairs for one to sit on while viewing all that surrounds.

Cuisine And Wine
Meals comprise a mixture of local flavours combined with good old home-style cooking, no matter the time of day.
The team in the kitchen, comprising of both chefs and cooks, are all from Botswana and have all been in the hospitality industry for years and years. A team that prepares only the best from the best by the best.
Over the course of one's stay, the team at Machaba Camp will try to vary the dining experiences as much as possible (weather and season dependent, of course).
Camp Facilities
The tented central guest area at camp offers up an indoor dining area and lounge area with an extensive collection of reading material. The entire camp is built at ground level, making this one the few wheelchair-friendly camps in Botswana.
Outdoors at Machaba, there is an open sitting and dining area as well as a swimming pool (with loungers) for those hot summer days.

Safari Activities
There is a variety of Machaba safaris and activities available at Machaba Camp, all of which offer guests a unique and memorable wildlife experience. Children of all ages are most welcome at Machaba Camp, although one must book a private vehicle if the kids under six will be participating in game drives.
No babysitting facilities are available. This is a Malaria area; precautions are recommended for both you and the children.
