Classic Safari Camp Is Located In The Khwai Concession; Machaba Is All About Wildlife
Machaba Camp is built in the classic 1950s safari style and, more importantly, is situated in the game-rich Khwai Private Reserve and Concession, comprising no less than 35 000 hectares of some of the best wildlife and birdlife in Botswana.
Independently owned and run, a stay at Machaba Camp will appeal to both the seasoned safari traveller and those for who a safari experience is new. It is from one's private tented suites or the main central guest areas that one can view superb wildlife and birdlife without leaving the camp.
Lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, Cape buffalo, giraffe, hippo, and elephant are just a few of the wildlife species found in this Private Reserve that borders the Moremi Game Reserve.
Game drives, Mokoro and walking safaris are part and parcel of one's stay. Machaba Camp is unpretentious, authentic and, more importantly, affordable.

Each of the camp suites comprises a writing desk, a small sitting area and, of course, comfortable bedding in either twin or king-size guise. The en-suite bathroom offers up both indoor and outdoor shower options, his and her wash hand basins and a flushing toilet.

Over the course of one's stay, the team at Machaba Camp will try to vary the dining experiences as much as possible (weather and season dependent, of course).
The tented central guest area at camp offers up an indoor dining area and lounge area with an extensive collection of reading material. The entire camp is built at ground level, making this one the few wheelchair-friendly camps in Botswana.
Outdoors at Machaba, there is an open sitting and dining area as well as a swimming pool (with loungers) for those hot summer days.
The entire central guest area overlooks the Okavango Delta bushveld with her wildlife and birdlife on show.

Mokoros (traditional dugout canoes) safaris are a fun and interesting way to explore the waterways around the camp and provide an up-close view of the wildlife that lives there.
Visits to the local community are also possible and offer a fascinating glimpse into traditional life in Botswana.
Finally, don't forget to experience a night drive after dinner - this is definitely an activity not to be missed!
Children of all ages are most welcome at Machaba Camp, although one must book a private vehicle if the kids under six will be participating in game drives.
