Botswana Distance Table
Botswana distance table, distances (in kilometres) between all the main towns and cities, an ideal point of reference for those participating in a self-drive safari, but also for those who are just interested in the distances between destinations in and around Botswana.
We have had to scale back our distance table due to website demands for a responsive nature (desktop, tablet and phone sizes) that is demanded these days.
As a general rule of thumb when trying to work out times between destinations, calculate times as if one would driving at 80 km/h (100 km/h for when the roads are tarred and devoid of wildlife, donkeys and potholes). For example; Gaborone to Ghanzi is 686 km at 80 km/h is a 6 and a half hours drive (686÷80=8.5 hrs).
General driving rules (or guidelines if you will) for Botswana travel;
- Never drive at night, unless it is an emergency.
- Ask experts for distances and driving times when off the main roads, a 200 km drive can take 8 hours when in a reserve.
- Always have more than enough fuel and water.
