Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park
- Make your way to Arusha ready to depart by 14h00 hours.
- We depart Arusha passing through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages, maize, coffee and banana plantations.
- At the town of Makuyuni, we turn North West and continue our journey up the scenic escarpment.
- We arrive in the late afternoon at our lodge with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara.
- Meals: Full board
- Accommodation: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, we game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.
- Returning to Kilimamoja Lodge for lunch.
- Leaving Lake Manyara behind, our journey continues North West across the hilly countryside, passing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the direction of the Serengeti.
- From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where we start spotting wildlife well before you get into the park.
- Continue with game drive en route to the lodge arriving in time for a sunset and dinner.
- Meals: Full board

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
- Today is all about the wildlife and birdlife of the Serengeti.
- Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park.
- Meals: Full board
- Accommodation: Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation
- After breakfast, we depart the Serengeti, heading for the Ngorongoro Conservation area.
- We stop en route for a picnic lunch.
- After lunch, we visit a Masai Village before arriving at our lodge in the late afternoon.
- Meals: Full board
- Accommodation: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation
- This morning we set out to explore the Crater floor with fantastic wildlife sightings waiting.
- We descend 2,000 feet into the crater with a picnic lunch packed.
- Ngorongoro Crater is the World’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
- Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes.
- An excellent wildlife experience awaits, make sure the camera is fully charged.
- A picnic lunch is served overlooking a small lake populated with hippos.
- You return to the lodge in the late afternoon in time for sunset and dinner.
- Meals: Full board
- Accommodation: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Day 6: Tarangire National Park
- Departing Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast, we head south-east past Lake Manyara and the small village of Mto wa Mbu, before arriving in the Tarangire.
- We arrive at our lodge in time for lunch and a short break.
- The remainder of the afternoon will be spent on a game drive within the park.
- Meals: Full board
- Accommodation: Tarangire Sopa Lodge
Day 7: Zanzibar
- We depart the Tarangire after breakfast and head northeast in the direction of Arusha, arriving by around midday in time for lunch.
- After lunch, we are transferred to the Arusha airport for our scheduled flight to Zanzibar.
- On arrival in Zanzibar, we are met at the airport and transferred to our beach resort via Stone Town.
- Meals: Half board
- Accommodation: Karafuu Beach Resort and Spa
Days 8 - 10: Zanzibar
- The next few days are at our complete and utter leisure.
- Soak up the sun on the beach, swim in the water Indian Ocean waters.
- Numerous optional activities are available on request, to be booked directly with the lodge.
- Meals: Half board
- Accommodation: Karafuu Beach Resort and Spa
Day 11: Classic Saffron Safari ends
- Transfer to Zanzibar airport for your onward arrangements.
- End of our services.
