Phinda Private Game Reserve in the Zululand region of KwaZulu Natal is nestled between the Mkuze Game Reserve, Greater St Lucia Wetland Park and the Indian Ocean.
Comprising of 29 000 hectares, the reserve is famed for offering guests an excellent chance of sighting the "Big 5", cheetah, black rhino and other plains game as well as over 380 species of bird all the while being surround by pristine bushveld.
Phinda contains seven distinct ecosystems; woodland, grassland, wetland, forest, mountain ranges, river courses and marshes.
Perched on the side of a rocky cliff, six supremely luxurious and spacious suites await.
Each with a private viewing deck and plunge pool, king-sized beds and those stunning views all wrapped in air-conditioned comfort.
En-suite bathrooms offer guests large bathtubs, outdoor showers and his and hers wash basins.
Pan African styled cuisine has always been a highlight when staying in Phinda, Rock lodge is no exception. Dinners in most cases are served up either on the main viewing deck or the indoor dining area.
The occasional bush breakfast after a morning game drive is a highlight served in a remote location.

From the central guest area at Rock Lodge one has sweeping views out over the Phinda Game Reserve and the Lebombo Mountains from the lounge, dining area and viewing deck.
