Canyon Roadhouse Gallery
Canyon Roadhouse is more of a budget offering for those looking to travel to Namibia's Fish River Canyon, but on saying that, the rooms are well decorated, clean, large(ish) with comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms. What more does one need when travelling?
The central guest area and the public area consists of a bar, restaurant and small curio shop all decorated in motor vehicle memorabilia. A swimming pool and campsite are located behind the central guest area.
All in all, a good option for those looking for an accommodation establishment that will be their home for a night or two while they explore the Fish River Canyon and if this is what you are after, it is perfect.
But, if you are after something a lot more private, then one would need to look at something else. It is not called "Roadhouse" for nothing (yes two negatives), every Tom, Dick and Harry will stop off here for a bite to eat and a beer or two en-route their destinations, yes it is a busy stopover.
Can we recommend a stay at Canyon Lodge? Yes, if you are the target market, looking to spend no more than two nights in the area and are looking for well-priced accommodation, then we can highly recommend the establishment. If not, there are other options :)

All photographs have been taken by us here at Uyaphi.com with the sole purpose of showcasing the lodge and reserve from our point of view.

Instead of lush green forests or open savannas, the primary attraction being vast, open deserts interspersed with canyons, mountain ranges, and oasis.
Living With The Himba
In May 2012, we arranged for Uyaphi.Com client Ken Vine from Devon in England to stay with the traditional Himba people in two remote villages in the middle of Kaokoland.
He lived, slept, ate, conversed and photographed these Himba villagers.
