Sasaab Lodge is perched above Ewaso Nyiro River just outside the Samburu National Reserve within the Westgate Community Conservancy. Sasaab offers fantastic wildlife sightings, safari activities and stunning views across the Laikipia Plateau and onto Mount Kenya.
A luxurious safari lodge in Kenya’s Northern Frontier District offers guests an array of safari activities, including; game drives in custom safari vehicles, guided walks, camelback and ATV adventures, remote fly camping options, and spa and wellness treatments. There is also a whole host of community and cultural activities in which one can partake.

Rooms and Suites
Sasaab Lodge accommodates up to eighteen guests in nine luxury suites in total (7x suites and one family suite with 2x individual rooms), each over 100 square meters in size. All suites offer magnificent views from their covered verandahs, a private plunge pool, king-sized beds and large and spacious en-suite bathrooms.
The suites have thatched roofing and canvas walls that help keep them cool during the day and warm at night.
Additionally, all beds come with mosquito nets to keep bugs at bay, and guests can enjoy dressing gowns and flip-flops during their stay. In-room safes are also available for guests to store their belongings, and each suite has a fan to keep guests cool.
If needed, hairdryers are available on request from the lodge staff.
Finally, guests can help themselves to a cooler stocked with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks during their stay.
Cuisine and Wine
Delicious cuisine in line with the 5-star experience is served indoors, outdoors or out in the surrounding Samburu bushveld. The team in the kitchen produce amazing quality and variety from only the best locally sourced ingredients.
A small homegrown vegetable garden and chicken coupe are found at Sasaab, great pride has been taken in this garden, and one is most welcome to view it.
Sasaab Lodge has an excellent wine selection that is sure to please all palettes. With a variety of reds, whites, and bubbly on offer, there is something for everyone. The wine list has been carefully curated to offer a variety of styles and price points, making it easy for guests to find the perfect bottle to accompany their meal. If you are in the mood for something special, they also have a selection of vintage wines available.
Most dietary requests can be catered for with advance notice. A children's menu is also available on request.
Facilities
The peaceful and luxurious atmosphere of the central guest area at Sasaab Lodge offers up views down onto the Ewaso Nyiro River bed, out over the Laikipia Plateau and onto Mount Kenya in the far distance.
Indoors, a large open-plan lounge, dining area and bar are all set around a central sunken courtyard that is open on three sides allowing guests to take in that expansive panoramic view.
Leading off the dining room is a large wooden deck area with spectacular views mainly used for outdoor lounging, dining and breakfasts. Below the deck area at Sasaab, one will find the swimming pool, spa and gym areas.
WiFi is available throughout the central guest area.
Activities
All game drives, camel walks, bush walks, cultural visits and quad biking adventures are conducted by highly skilled and knowledgeable Samburu guides and trackers.
After a day of game viewing and safari activities in and around the Samburu National Reserve has come to an end, enjoy a spectacular sundowner on a rocky kopje or the elevated terrace a short walk away from the lodge.
When staying at Sasaab Lodge by the safari collection, guests can enjoy a variety of safari activities and day trips, including guided walks, bird watching, stargazing, game drives in Samburu National Reserve, delicious bush breakfasts, dining out under the stars, camelback safaris, quad biking adventures, and helicopter flights.

Sasaab Lodge offers families with children of all ages one of the best safari experiences available. A whole host of child-friendly safari, cultural and educational activities are available, and all meals and menus can be tailor-made to suit the fussiest of eaters out there.
