Overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro river in the heart of Samburu land, Sasaab Lodge is comprised of nine individually detached rooms with huge thatched roofs and canvas sides with sensational views down the river and over the bush and beyond.
Attention to detail is evident throughout the lodge, from the personal service and the food through to the elegant interiors and design - which is contemporary North African in style.
This Samburu Luxury Lodge is in the midst of a community conservancy, rich in raw Samburu culture and traditions and has been built with wildlife conservation and preservation of the environment foremost in mind.
The lodge has been established in association with the local community who benefit directly and indirectly from your stay at Sasaab. Sasaab Lodge offers invigorating walks through the wilderness, game watching, alfresco dining, a unique cultural experience and opportunities to become involved with the local community and is the ultimate place to relax and unwind.
Sasaab Lodge accommodates up to 18 guests in nine individually located rooms with magnificent views of the river and the true African wilderness, each over 100 square meters and with their own plunge pool and privacy.
The uniquely designed tents are ideal for game viewing and bird-watching as well as relaxing.
The novel "souk" style mess provides a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Meals are prepared with the finest fresh ingredients and served in the privacy of various different areas of the "souk" or can be al fresco under the stars!
Back at Sasaab Lodge you may choose to relax by the main swimming pool, enjoy beauty treatments in the privacy of your own tent or find a corner of your own to unwind.
Activities are complemented by the knowledgeable and colourful Samburu guides, whether on camel walks, game drives, educational cultural visits or bush walks.
To end your day, there can be nowhere better to enjoy sundowners, either from a rocky kopje a short walk away or the elevated terrace at the lodge.
Children are welcome and under three’s stay free. Extra beds are available on request. We recommend parents book the family suite (rooms 8 and 9), as it has a shared central area and pool. It can also be taken as an exclusive use villa. The Samburu guides will most certainly teach children about their traditions.
Baby-sitters and special meals are by prior arrangement.
All treatments at Spasaab use Liz Earle skin care products and an assortment of natural Kenyan ingredients.
