Baines' Camp with her views out over the Boro River, the wildlife that surrounds and the waterways of the Okavango Delta. Combine that with only five opulent suites offering the ultimate in privacy and one has one of the most sought-after safari camps in the whole of Botswana.
Baines' offers guests both land and water based safari throughout the year, there is the option of viewing the Okavango Delta from onboard a helicopter and participating in the nearby walking with elephants program.
Rooms and Suites
Five opulent and luxurious suites offer guests the ultimate in privacy and space. Large verandahs lead into a room with a small sitting area, large comfortable beds and en-suite bathroom facilities including his and her hand basins, full-length mirror, flushing toilet and a shower with a view.
Of particular interest, beds at Baines' Camp can be rolled out onto the private verandah for intimate even under the African stars (weather dependent of course).
All suites are connected to the central guest area via raised wooden walkways.
Cuisine and Wine
Ranking up there with the best in Botswana, the cuisine at Baines' Camp, no matter the time of day is simply superb. Meals are served in numerous location around the camp or out in the Okavango surrounded by wildlife. A highlight for us being the bush breakfast.
Most dietary requirements are provisioned for although notice does have to be given.
A good selection of South African wines, local beers, cold drinks and spirits are included in rates. Premium alcohol is charged additionally.
The central guest area is raised off the ground and nestled under and between large trees. An area that offers up views of the Boro River and Okavango Delta with all her wildlife on show.
A lounge, small library and dining area are all found indoors all under thatch, outdoors one finds a small sitting area with firepit and dining area.

Baines' Camp offers guests both land and water based safari activities; game drives and night drive offer the chance of getting up close to the surrounding wildlife, Mokoro safaris showcase the Okavango from a different vantage point, motorised boats are perfect for sundowners and finally walking safaris are ideal for learning all about the small aspects of the African bushveld, insects, birds, trees and of course animal tracks.
Optional helicopter flights over the Delta and a unique chance to walk and picnic with orphaned elephants are also on the cards.

Children six years and older welcome although it must be said that Baines' is a more adult orientated camp, with the wildlife and general camp set up.
