The Ultimate Safari Camp From Which To View Those Vast Herds Of Chobe Elephant
The Chobe Elephant Camp is a Safari Camp located on the western perimeter (Chobe Forest Reserve) of the Chobe National Park, Botswana.
It offers incredible views of the Chobe River and its floodplains, which are home to an abundance of wildlife, a wildlife haven, if you will. Chobe Elephant Camp is perched on a rocky ridge offering guests a comfortable refuge from the harsh African conditions.
The camp is eco-friendly and located on the western perimeter of the park, making it the perfect place for fantastic game viewing opportunities.
Wildlife sightings in this area include elephant, lion, leopard, wild dog, plains games, buffalo and let us not forget hippo and Nile crocodile to mention only but a few.
Chobe Elephant Camp offers game drives in the Chobe National Park, boat cruises, cultural village tours of the Sibuya Tribe and swimming in the camp's pool.
Rooms and Suites
With only 12 safari rooms accommodating a maximum of 24 guests, Chobe Elephant Camp is one of the more private and intimate camps in the Chobe region of Botswana.
The general decor in all rooms is that of a rustic safari theme. All rooms have spectacular views over the Chobe River from their private verandahs, seriously comfortable bedding and, of course, en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers.
A two-bedroom chalet is perfect for families or couples who want that little bit more space.
Cuisine and Wine
Excellent cuisine is on offer at Chobe Elephant Camp in the dining area or outside in the open-air boma. A fully stocked bar with local and international beers, wines and spirits is on offer.
Should one participate in one of the full-day safari activities available, delicious picnic baskets are provided.
Lodge Facilities
The central guest area of Chobe Elephant Camp is situated on a ridge overlooking the spectacular Chobe river floodplain below.
A highlight of the camp is the swimming pool (other than the views) with a viewing deck onto a private waterhole brimming with wildlife.
Safari Activities
Highly trained and professional guides expose one to all the local wildlife, birdlife and culture that the Chobe National Park offers on twice-daily game drives and cultural tours.
Optional activities on offer when staying at Chobe Elephant Camp;
- Stay two or more nights, and a Chobe River boat cruise is on the cards
- A walk through a local village, taking in the cultural delights of this region of Botswana
- A full day tour visiting the famous Victoria Falls; additional price
Family Friendly
Families with children are welcome at Chobe Elephant Camp in a purpose-built family unit, the minimum age for children being two years and upwards. Note; we do advise that older children are more suitable; limited or no activities for little ones to participate in, the swimming pool is unfenced, and the camp is unfenced (wildlife does wonder, though).
