John's Is Located Within the Mana Pools National Park, A Safari Camp Offering An Authentic Experience
The classic tented safari camp Nestled amongst canopies of Trichelia and Mahogany trees in a truly natural wilderness, John's is a breath of fresh air, a classic safari camp for those who want and need to escape the modern world.
With a maximum of 12 guests at any one time, John's is a small and intimate camp for honeymooners, couples and small groups of friends who want to experience the very best in wildlife and birdlife that Mana Pools National Park has to offer.
Game drives and, in particular, walking safaris are the highlights when staying here.
Rooms and Suites
Six Meru styles tented suites each with comfortable bedding and en-suite bathroom facilities, including; flush loo and overhanging safari-style bucket shower (with hot water).
All suites around camp are spaced out far enough to ensure privacy and offer fantastic views out over the floodplain, Zambezi River and Zambezi Escarpment in the distance.
Cuisine and Wine
As with all Robin Pope camps, John's offers up exceptional cuisine as standard no matter, whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The team in the kitchen are brilliant at what they do considering where the camp is located.
Most dietary requests are catered for, except for people with severe nut allergies.
Facilities
There is not much to the central guest area at camp; a lounge under canvas, indoor and outdoor ding areas and a fire pit, that is pretty much it. But this is the experience that people are after, a back-to-basic safari with little to no connection to the modern world.
A stay at John's is not about the camp; it is about where one is, what one can see, smell and hear, and what one can photograph and experience; this is what it is all about.
There is no WiFi or cell phone reception at all in the camp, although there are numerous charging stations for devices.
Activities
The most popular way of seeing and experiencing the incredible wildlife and birdlife surrounding the camp is by either game drives or walking safaris. All camp safari activities are led by professional and experienced safari guides and trackers.
At John's Camp, visitors can enjoy a range of safari activities, including game drives, walking safaris, and fishing excursions.
Game drives are the most popular activity at the camp, offering guests the chance to see an array of wildlife in their natural habitat.
Walking safaris provide an up-close and personal experience with nature, while fishing excursions offer a unique way to explore the area's waterways.
Bush breakfasts and lunches are also available, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a meal outdoors in a beautiful setting.
Regrettably, no night drives are available in this region of the Mana Pools National Parl, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

John's Camp is the perfect escape for those who want to get back to nature and truly experience all that Africa has to offer.
This rustic safari camp offers guests incredible game drives, walking safaris, and fishing excursions in a breathtaking setting.
