7-Day Budget Accommodated Safari in Uganda
Are you young at heart and looking for an affordable way to see gorillas in their natural habitat? If so, our 7-day budget accommodated safari is perfect for you! We will take you to some of the most beautiful places in Uganda, including Lake Bunyoni, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Kampala.
You will be able to experience all the highlights of each destination without spending a fortune.
So what are you waiting for? Book your spot today!
Day 1: Murchison Falls National Park
- We set off for The Murchison Falls National Park in the direction of the Moraine River along with your team this morning.
- Murchison Falls, also known as the Kabaraga Falls, is a waterfall on the great Nile River within Murchison National Park.
- It is one of the finest National Parks in Uganda.
- Your guide will explain the activities for the next day once you've settled in at your Masindi accommodation.
- Meals: Lunch, Dinner
- Accommodation: Kabalega Wilderness Lodge
Day 2: Budongo Central Forest Reserve
- Budongo Forest is Uganda's biggest Mahogany forest, and it is home to the greatest number of chimps in the country.
- It is anticipated that there are between 600 and 700 chimps in Budongo Park, and we will be meeting with our chimp guide this morning to go on an adventure through the jungle in search of the chimpanzees.
- We'll go on a boat trip to the park as well. Note: Because the Chimp trekking is limited to 12 people, it will be divided between morning and afternoon if there are more than 12 passengers on a trip.
- As a result, you may find that you will do the game drive activity first, followed by the Chimp trekking or vice versa.
- Please allow for flexibility.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Accommodation: Kabalega Wilderness Lodge
Day 3: Lake Kikorongo
- This morning, we leave Masindi and travel south into the Queen Elizabeth National Park's fringes.
- Our accommodation for the night is located on a hill above Lake Kikorongo.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Accommodation: Simba Safari Camp
Day 4: Gorillas (Lake Bunyonyi)
- We return to the Equator for one last time, this time via stunning Lake Bunyonyi.
- We eagerly anticipate the next Gorilla trekking trip, and tonight we will receive a briefing on what to expect.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Accommodation: Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort
Day 5: Gorillas (Lake Bunyonyi)
- The mountain gorilla is a critically endangered species, although the exact number of individuals is unknown. It has been estimated that there are fewer than 650 remaining.
- Visiting the gorillas is a wonderful way to assist their future on Earth since the money spent on permits goes towards their protection.
- Communities develop a love of nature, which will be essential for the future conservation of gorillas. As local communities change their attitudes towards animals and start to protect rather than poach, the mountain gorilla and its forests will be safe.
- Gorilla tracking is a complicated and challenging procedure. Because permits to visit the gorillas are highly restricted, we need flexibility in both the tour itinerary and the gorilla-spotting location.
- The home of the mountain gorillas is in sharp contrast to man-made boundaries, and their range includes Uganda, Rwanda, and the DRC.
- We prefer to visit the National Park in Uganda whenever possible, but this is dependent on permits.
- If we don't obtain permits to visit the mountain gorillas in Uganda, we'll let passengers know ahead of time that the trip will take them to Rwanda or the DRC.
- On your free day in Bunyonyi, you'll have the option to participate in a variety of optional activities.
- You can also go hiking or explore the area on a mountain bike.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Accommodation: Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort
Day 6: Gorillas (Lake Bunyonyi)
- Although there are two days set aside for Gorilla Trekking, you will only spend one day on the trek.
- The other days are there to provide enough time to get permits and for the whole group to trek if more than six of you are on the trip.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Accommodation: Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort
Day 7: Budget Gorilla Safari ends
- This morning we set off on our return journey to Kampala, where your tour comes to an end upon arrival in the city.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Popular Uganda Destinations
When I was younger, the name Uganda conjured images of Africa’s raw allure and untamed beauty—its unparalleled wildlife, the gripping tale of Idi Amin’s brutal reign, the daring raid on Entebbe, and the turbulent chapters of its civil wars. Uganda seemed to embody extremes, offering both the peril and promise that define much of Africa’s history and natural splendor. It was, without a doubt, a land of both fascination and foreboding, etched in my mind as a place of profound complexity and unforgettable stories.
Uganda the Pearl of Africa
There are certain names in Africa that are simply magical, conjuring up spectacular images of mystery, exotic fauna and flora, and even a touch of danger. I had the immense pleasure of visiting one of these places last year: the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in the southwest corner of Uganda.
This is one of the best places in the world to find troupes of majestic mountain gorillas. In the dense, misty forests of the Virunga Mountains, you can witness these incredible creatures in their natural habitat, an experience few other locations can offer.
White Water Rafting Uganda
Our whitewater rafting adventure on the Nile River, without a doubt one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life, began at the vibrant Nile River Explorers backpackers in Jinja. From the very start, the attention to detail was exceptional. Our guides delivered a remarkably thorough safety briefing—far more comprehensive than most would expect.
This wasn’t just a surface-level overview; it included multiple, mandatory practice flips in the raft, ensuring every participant felt fully prepared for the thrilling challenges that awaited. The meticulous preparation added a layer of confidence and excitement, setting the stage for what proved to be an unforgettable journey down one of the world’s most iconic rivers.v
