Solitaire Namibia Photos
A small hamlet (if you will) on the side of the main road that connects Swakopmund to the Sossusvlei region of the Namib Desert.
A spot to refresh, a toilet break, a coffee break, fill up with petrol, repair a tyre, a lunch stop, an apple-pie shop, a photo stop and even buy a curio. This is Solitaire, this is why it is so loved by anyone that travels through the Namib Desert.
Should you stop, oh yes, please stop, support the local community and enjoy a delicious apple-pie, and stretch those legs for the roads that surround Solitaire are as bad as bad gets.
We would argue that Solitaire is just as important a tourist destination as Sossusvlei and Sesriem are, to visit the Namib and not stop off at Solitaire is pretty much criminal.
