Namib Desert Photos
Images and photos of the Namib Desert in Namibia, we have although only focused on the Namib between Sossusvlei and Aus in the South. Just to give you an idea of how big the desert actually is, the Namib spans 2000 kilometres in length passing through South Africa, Namibia and Angola (most of it being in Namibia).
The Namib consists of sand dunes, rocky and mountainous regions, large and small canyons, rivers and dry river beds and vast tracks of flat grasslands. Interestingly. Namib means "open space".
Most types of cameras are suitable here but a wide-angle lens is highly recommended. If you are going to be using a smart camera, try and photograph using the RAW format in professional mode, the harsh lighting plays havoc with the light meter and anything remotely white is just blown out completely. The RAW allows a great deal of play when editing photos at a later date.
