Hoanib River Valley Photos
One of two river valleys that we explored on a recent Namibia safari through this remote region, the journey down Hoanib River Valley was nothing short of spectacular.
Driving through the town of Sesfontein and then turning left onto a track that had not been driven in a while was just the start, the river bed, the mountains, the tracks crisscrossing each other, the sheer cliffs, those photographic acacia trees, we could go on and on forever. Take it from us, the Hoanib River Valley is uttering amazing.
It truly is hard to explain through words and images just how absolutely stunning the scenery was that surrounded us, although we did not spot much wildlife as such, except for desert elephant, oryx and springbok, the scenery and isolation were completely mind-blowing.
For us, next time, at least three nights exploring this river valley, the desert lions were there, we could hear then, but due to time constraints, we could not find them.
Travelling and exploring the tracks of the Hoanib River Valley is for the adventurous only, travel with no less than two vehicles in convoy.
