| Nguni River Lodge is a new lodge recently opened in the private Nyathi concession of the Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape. Nguni - a collective name for a group of people belonging to the Negroid racial group in Africa. The Northern Nguni group comprises the Swazi, Zulu and Ndebele people of the highveld; and the Southern Nguni include the Xhosa, Thembu, Bomvana, Mpondo and Mpondomise. It is the Xhosa people that traditionally inhabit the hills and coastline of the Eastern Cape, and for this reason, the Nguni River Lodge has been designed to incorporate style elements of the Xhosa people. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: There are 10 bedrooms at the lodge, which can sleep 20 people in separate chalets linked by walkway to main lodge. 8 Standard rooms, each sleeping up to two people and 1 Family suite, with 2 bedrooms, sleeping upto four people. Standard Room: Twin beds, either joined as king or separated, En-suite stone bath, magnificent views from outside shower and fireplace. Family Suite: Twin beds, either joined as king or separated, En-suite stone bath, private balcony with plunge pool, inter-leading lounge and fireplace. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, hairdryers, tea/coffee facilities and safes. FOOD & WINE: A La Carte and Buffet menu area available at the in-house restaurant. Special diets will be catered to, on prior arrangement. FACILITIES/ACTIVITIES: – 24 hour reception – 24 hour security – Major credit cards accepted – Ample Parking to be at main entrance gate - not at the Lodge – Laundry service – Swimming pool – Lounge and dining area – Room service – Transfers from Port Elizabeth Airport and surrounds Other Activities include: – Woody Cape Nature Reserve for game viewing experiences including whale, dolphin and shark spotting. – Addo Elephant National Park. – Horseback safaris. – Guided 4x4 excursions though the Zuurberg mountain range to Darlington Lake. – Bird watching excursions. – EcoCruises to the St Croix Island Marine Reserve. – Elephant walking safaris. – Night drives on the Nyathi concession. – Port Elizabeth and all of its attractions, such as Sea World and Boardwalk Casino. |
