From your scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands to your evenings spent at a tranquil fly camp, every moment of this journey feels carefully crafted for discovery and wonder. Along the way, you’ll find yourself surrounded by stunning grasslands, iconic baobab trees, and the warm welcome of a community deeply connected to its environment.

What makes this safari extraordinary is its focus on authentic, hands-on experiences. You’ll spend time tracking wildlife and foraging with Hadza hunters, learning their time-honored survival skills that have been passed down through generations. Whether it’s gathering honey or berries with expert women gatherers or enjoying sundowners while sharing stories of the day's adventures, your time in Yaeda Valley will feel both intimate and awe-inspiring. Day 1: Yaeda Valley

• You will be picked up from Manyara Airstrip or Karatu by your guide and 4x4 vehicle and driven through the Ngorongoro highlands and down into the Lake Eyasi basin, characterized by open grasslands, rocky ridges, and hundreds of baobab trees.
• The drive takes approximately 4 hours from Karatu, and you will arrive in the late afternoon at your fly camp in the Yaeda Valley.
• Spend the evening learning more about the days to come from your guide, gaining an understanding of the Hadzabe people, their traditions and skills, and also the wider area.
• Meals: Full board
• Accommodation: Yaeda Valley fly camp

Day 2: Yaeda Valley

• An early breakfast before departing with a Hadza hunter and your guide.
• Hunting excursions are often a mix of honey gathering and eating berries, but also opportunistic if a monkey or mammal is seen.
• The hunting is typically a mix of walking and occasionally running if the hunter sees something exciting.
• Return to your fly camp for lunch and a siesta and, in the afternoon, walk for around an hour to a nearby Hadza village where your guide will introduce you, and you will be shown around.
• Set off on a walk with the women to gather berries, baobab fruit when they are in season, and dig for tubers. Men will often join the walk to harvest honey from hives in the trees.
• Return to your fly camp for sundowners and to enjoy the views over the valley and recounting tales of the day's adventures.
• This day can be tailored to focus more on the gatherer side if you wish, but can also vary depending on the season and what is happening at the time, so the outline here is just a suggestion of how the day can unfold.

Day 3: Meet the Hadzabe Safari ends

• Breakfast at the fly camp and depart by 4x4 with your guide back to Karatu or Manyara airstrip, where your adventure concludes.
• Note: A 4-day/3-night option is also available, giving two full days with the Hadzabe.
