Mabula Tented Camp in the Mabula Private Game Reserve is a 12 000 ha malaria free area, situated ± 200 km north of Johannesburg and ± 150 km from Sun City, near the town of Warmbaths in the Northern Province of South Africa. Mabula Game Reserve proudly presents - Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp - the meaning of Kwafubesi being 'Place of the Giant Eagle Owl'. Kwafubesi, completely independent from the Main Lodge, is situated approximately 8 kilometers away in a spectacular location overlooking a wide open plain. Mabula Tented Camp features a thatched lapa with a fire place in the centre of the 24 meter diameter deck, a bar lounge and dining area, where Mabula Tented Camp'sculinary delights may be enjoyed al fresco. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: The five well-appointed canvass tents, are each equipped with en-suite toilet and shower, with hot and cold running water and comfortable beds but romantic oil lamps substitute for electricity, to provide an "Out of Africa" atmosphere second to none. The tents and hospitality lapa are discretely tucked away in the tree line on the edge of a beautiful open plain, directly alongside several game paths that lead to the largest of the sixteen dams - Mvubu Dam - at the other end of the plain. Blissful silence without the intrusion of modern communication opens the visitor to the rich 'musical' sounds of the bush. Individual, private, wooden decks provide views of breathtaking sunsets and visitors stand an excellent chance of being joined by some wild inhabitant of the plain, etching silhouettes into memories that will last a lifetime. FOOD & WINE: Meals are served in the romantic dining area in the Lapa. For those special occasions, Bush Dinners have proven to be a most suitable alternative by combining the enjoyment of superb food with the tranquillity and captivating scenic beauty of the African bushveld.
