Lion Sands River Lodge in the Lion Sands Reserve is situated in one of the finest wilderness areas in the Southern Kruger National Park region. It is the only property to have substantial access to the perennial Sabie River, ensuring an incredible diversity of wildlife all year round. Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo are common residence in this reserve amongst many other species, great and small. A unique element to the safari experience is in its programme of activities. Through these activities the guest is offered the opportunity to interact more closely. River Lodge is the soul of the Lion Sands Game Reserve. It is positioned on a site with trees dating back 800 years. The lodge is about spirit, warmth, nature & relaxation. It is hosted by a family of staff that will make it feel like home from home. Relax, enjoy and experience African hospitality at its finest. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Accommodation at Lion Sands river lodge consistes of 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower & wooden viewing deck. The interior is a tranquil purple and cream haven, cool in the summer, cosy in the winter. The bathroom, with its tranquil look and pebble-inlaid floors complements the bushveld well. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an overhead fan. All rooms have mini-bar & telephone access. The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. FOOD & WINE: The culinary experience is as diverse and interesting as the African bushveld itself. Guests can enjoy a bush breakfast on the river hide or one of the open plains. Bush dinners under the African sky on an open plain, lit by paraffin lamps and a big open campfire make one of the most spectacular experiences whilst at Lion Sands.
