ROOM & SUITE TYPES: The Protea Hotel Saldanha Bay is situated on the waterfront approximately 25km from Langebaan and 140 km from Cape Town International Airport. Accommodation is luxurious and spacious, comprising 58 bedrooms, all but four of which have sea-facing views; the others mountain-facing. All rooms have a private bathroom, remote controlled television (with M-Net / Satellite Channels), radio, telephone and hairdryer. FOOD & WINE: The Musselcracker Restaurant has seating for up to 105 people and overlooks the bay. They serve a la carte meals, daily table d'hote menu and three mussel dishes as a specialty. Jacob's Anchorage Cocktail Bar and Lounge, with its tranquil view of the bay, serves bar meals, cocktail drinks, tea, coffee and sandwiches. ACTIVITIES: The hotel has its own slipway and floating jetty from where GUESTS can launch their boats. A Putt-Putt course is also available on the premises. Saldanha Bay is a haven for fishing and watersport enthusiasts. The West Coast is dotted with quaint fishing villages, abundant bird life. It is also world-famous for its wild flowers that bloom between July and September. The seafood route and the magnificent Langebaan lagoon are also in the area.
