Bazaruto Lodge stands at the northern tip of Bazaruto Island, far away from any villages. In recent years it has been upgraded and now it offers some of the archipelago's best food, friendliest service and great value for money. Bazaruto Island is paradise. The impressive beauty of the surrounding coral reefs is enriched by the stunning diversity of the tropical fish, which abound in this sub-tropical ecosystem. The archipelago has well earned its name as the 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean'. The island of Bazaruto is approximately 37km long and 7km at its widest point. Bazaruto Lodge is to be found in a beautiful bay on the northern side of the island. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: Bazaruto Lodge has 26 A-frame chalets with solid walls and cool thatched roofs. Accommodation consists of 15 Standard Chalets, 2 Family Chalets, 8 Superior Chalets and 1 Honeymoon Chalet. Standing on white-coral sand beneath a canopy of palm trees and hibiscus bushes, most rooms are virtually on the beach. All beds have mosquito nets. The superior chalets come with air-con, a fan, tea/coffee-making facilities and a private bathroom with an outdoor shower. The African décor combined with the Deserted Treasure Island ambience of the location, add to the charm of the lodge. FOOD & WINE: There is one main restaurant and every night, dinner is announced by the sound of African drums. For lunch, enjoy a light meal served by the pool, or maybe a picnic basket to take to the beach. There is a cocktail bar indoors and an outside bar by the swimming pool.
