FranschHoek Country House & Villas

September 7th, 2009

FranschHoek Country House & Villas
by Nicky Searle

FranschHoek Country House & Villas by far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is very charming with a warm French country kind of feel to it, situated in a lovely area just outside of the FranschHoek Town itself.

We stayed in one of the Villas which are extremely spacious (lounge area, separate bedroom, bathroom as well as two balcony areas) and are furnished to a very high standard and come complete with butler service. The Villas are very romantic and ideal for Honeymooners or those celebrating a special occasion.

Breakfast overlooks the Villas and stunning courtyard area. It was amazing, with an assortment of yummy choices, making it quite difficult what to decide on.  In the end I, eventually, opted for the scrambled egg with salmon on a croissant, and I wasn’t disappointed!

Just a 1.5km drive away and you’re in Town where you have a vast array of fabulous restaurants to sample, not forgetting FranschHoek Country House’s own award winning Monneaux restaurant, as well as various curio shops and art galleries. A visit to the Huguenot Belgian Chocolate shop is a definite must for any chocolate lover! For your peace of mind, the hotel offers a chauffeur service into Town which is a fantastic added service.

FranschHoek Country House & Villas is an ideal location to explore the numerous top-quality wine estates and restaurants in the area, as well as those looking for a relaxing break.
