THE PALACE OF THE LOST CITY: SUN CITY RESTAURANTS The Crystal Court: Exquisitely prepared international cuisine, the Crystal Court is surrounded by towering floor-to-ceiling windows, providing an excellent view of the tropical jungle and shimmering waters. Breakfast and dinner served, as well as traditional High Tea with classical music. Dress: Smart elegant, jacket not required (Denims not permitted) 280 people seated inside and on the terrace (Summer only) 180 people seated inside (Winter) Villa del Palazzo: Classic regional Italian cuisine is the speciality of this magnificent waterside restaurant, overlooking the spectacular Palace pool. The cuisine emphasis is on subtle elegance with regard to presentation, freshness and taste. Items such as, freshly made Mozzarella, Semolina pastas, authentic Parma Ham and delicious Tartuffos, Gelatos and Pastelles are made and served by personally selected chefs and Chef de Ranges. Dinner is served nightly. Dress: Formal (No denims permitted, collared shirts required for gents) Capacity: 180 people Lost City Crocodile Lounge & Country Club: This informal restaurant serves a light a la carte menu daily Tusk Bar & Lounge: To the left of the Atrium is the Tusk Bar with its lounge and terrace which overlooks the Valley of the Ancients and the middle lake. Hand-carved teak tusks soar above this beautifully designed lounge to provide a casual and relaxed atmosphere for drinks. There is live piano music in the evenings. A gourmet buffet lunch is served daily from 12h30 to 14h30 and a light snack menu is available until 18h00. Dress: Smart casual (Long trousers required after 18h00) Palm Court Lounge: Adjacent to the Villa del Palazzo, the Palm Court Lounge is an elegant meeting place and is ideally suited for pre-dinner and after-dinner drinks. Dress: Smart elegant, Collar is required Pool Restaurant / Pool Cocktail Bar: The Pool Restaurant offers a menu of light entrées ranging from sandwiches to entrée salads to a selection of burgers. A daily selection of homemade ice-creams, and a variety of desserts, are available. Buffet barbecues are popular in Season and the Snack Bar, located next to the Grand Pool serves traditional pool cocktails under the cool shade of a pavilion. Open Daily THE CASCADES: SUN CITY RESTAURANTS The Peninsula: The Peninsula restaurant beautifully situated overlooking the lake and tropical gardens surrounding the Cascades Hotel serves an extensive English and Continental breakfast buffet daily. In the evening the ambience is both sophisticated and intimate offering an international A la Carte and buffet menu with a number of local specialities. Group bookings can also be accommodated from a selection of mouth watering Lunch and Dinner set menus. Dress is Smart Elegant and reservations are recommended. Dress: Smart casual, no jacket required Capacity: 180 seats Santorini Restaurant: The Grotto restaurant has been revolutionised. The Mediterranean restaurant now named Santori, is surrounded by glass windows providing an all season enclave, harbouring guests during winter. Alfresco dining takes place along the island promenade and delightful gazebo's offer shaded areas where guests can relax informally and enjoy a delectable meal. The interior of the restaurant has a bamboo ceiling which gives the restaurant an airy and light effect. The azure blue of the Mediterranean is embodied in the fabrics and mosaic tiles and an open wood-burning pizza oven adds to the intimate and aesthetically pleasing ambience. Santori provides a unique and enjoyable dining experience, satisfying the diner who enjoys a quiet evening of fine dining with family or the person who enjoys relaxing with a cocktail at the poolside. "The incredible exotic blend of Mediterranean influences allow for an ambient and soothing restaurant theme, and one which we believe will ideally complement the cascading water and alfresco nature of the original Grotto Restaurant," says Uphof. Vistas Bar: This terrace bar, open seven days a week, has a wonderful view of the gardens and waterscapes. Dress: Smart casual Capacity: 74 people Bookings: Essential Orchid Restaurant The Orchid features a distinctive Oriental menu, offering a range of authentically prepared dishes, flavours and textures from many Asian countries. Piquant combination dishes sate even the most jaded taste buds. Dress: Smart Casual Capacity: 165 (smoking and non-smoking) Booking: Essential Sushi Bar: Situated inside the Orchid, an authentic selection of sushi, sashimi and a wide variety of fresh fish is available. Capacity: 8 people Booking: Essential The Calabash: The Calabash offers traditional South African fare, featuring groaning buffets with offerings of freshly-prepared salads, boboetjie, curries, carvery and steamed vegetables. Followed by sinful trifles and tipsy tarts. Dress: Casual Capacity: 132 people Sun Terrace Restaurant: The ideal breakfast and lunch venue situated in tranquil surroundings. Experience the extensive lunch buffet with speciality counters from around the globe. Dress: Casual Capacity: 380 people Gary Player Country Club Restaurant: The Restaurant serves a full English breakfast as well as an a la' carte lunch. Snacks & toasted sandwiches are served in the afternoon. Harlequins Cocktail Bar: Located in the offering a great selection of traditional cocktails and shooters, and is ideal for pre-dinner drinks. Dress: Smart casual A smoking area Kingfisher Bar: Located adjacent to the Slots Floor. Loerie Bar: Offers pizza, pies, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. This facility is open 24 hours a day and is adjacent to the Calabash. Casino Bar: At the very centre of the casino, this bar features a great selection of drinks served with speed and style. Pool Bar: An informal poolside bar, open daily. Swim up and order a drink from the "wet bar". Pool Grill: The pool grill is open on Saturdays and Sundays and daily during season. SUN CITY CABANAS: SUN CITY RESTAURANTS The Famous Butchers Grill: The Famous Butchers Grill Restaurant specialises in juicy steaks and grills, served in an inviting atmosphere at affordable prices. Dress: Smart casual Capacity: 76 people inside and 34 people outside Palm Terrace: Everyday full breakfast buffet and dinner buffet set amidst lush garden greenery. The chefs excel at creating imaginative theme style buffets at the Palm Terrace and there is live band entertainment Tuesday - Sunday. Closed from Mid-May to Mid-August for dinner, due to cold weather conditions.
