From the moment you walk through the entrance of Africa on Foot you are greeted with the warm hospitality that follows you through your days on safari here.

Although only a small lodge the focus here is on walking safaris. Experienced guides lead you through the Klaserie and encounters with the Big 5 are not uncommon. Guide walking safaris allow guests to see not only to see larger mammals, but also to experience smaller wildlife and flora that the reserve has on offer.

Rooms are adequate in size, with fans for hot summer days and heaters for chilly winter nights. Mosquito nets over the beds and bathroom amenities are all in room with outdoor showers.

The lodge relies on solar electricity, but there is enough to power and recharge batteries for cameras and electronic devices. Although WiFi is available in the communal areas, try to get off the grid and really immerse yourself in the bush at Africa on Foot in the Klaserie Game Reserve.

The main public areas are centered around an amazing old tee trunk; many a story can be told of why and how it came to be here. The communal dining is around a large long table, or in the boma under the the stars. A small pool is available for guests to cool off as well.

NOTE: Africa on Foot is an 'un-fenced' lodge - animals are free to walk through camp and elephants are know to visit. Always ensure your guide escorts you to you room in the evenings.

One of the major highlights of Africa on Foot is surely their 2 storey tree-house. Staying here one night during a stay is a must, therefore we recommend at least a 3 nights stay. Although weather dependent, you have a warm bed, torch light and are in radio contact with lodge management should you need.
