Discover The Wild Heart Of Zambia: A Safari Adventure At Mukambi Lodge
Mukambi Safari Lodge is perfectly situated on the banks of the Kafue River, surrounded by fantastic wildlife and exceptional birdlife in summer. Mukambi offers guests a safari experience in the central Kafue National Park region, one of Africa's largest Parks covering over 22 000kmª (roughly the same size as Whales).
Game drives, walking safaris, fishing excursions, and boat and sunset cruises are all on offer when staying here.
Mukambi is perfect for couples, families, and honeymooners alike, and it has fourteen accommodation options available.
Rooms and Suites
Mukambi Safari Lodge offers guests the choice of 14 accommodation options, which are divided into chalets, luxury safari tents, and a family chalet.
Nine thatched chalets are set slightly back from the Kafue River and offer large bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms.
Four luxury tented suites overlooking the Kafue offer guests a more private affair with large bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and an open-air bathtub, the perfect option for those on honeymoon or those wanting to rekindle a love affair.
The River Villa, with two bedrooms, a wooden deck, a lounge area and en-suite facilities, is perfect for larger families.
Cuisine and Wine
Three meals a day are included in the rate: breakfast, lunch, and a three-course dinner prepared by the team from only the finest and freshest locally sourced ingredients.
Excellent pizzas are available (loved by young and old alike) day and night should one choose; all local drinks other than top-shelf options are included in the daily rate.
Please note, not all dietary requirements are catered for at Mukambi Safari Lodge due to remote location and produce available in Zambia as a whole.
Facilities
The large thatched and luxuriously appointed central guest area at Mukambi Safari Lodge offers guests a rather fantastic view of the River and beyond into the Kafue National Park.
Under thatch, one finds a dining room, bar area, lounge with fireplace, and outdoors a viewing deck, firepit, dining area, and a rather large swimming pool (with kiddies pool).
All in all, the central guest area is an excellent place to relax between safari activities or just catch up on some social media and news; WiFi is available here.
Activities
Safari activities include twice-daily game drive options into the Kafue National Park. Of interest are the safari vehicles located in the national park, which can be accessed by a short boat cruise across the River.
Walking safaris are available in the Kafue National Park and are approximately 3 hours in duration; they are highly recommended. The guides at Mukambi Safari Lodge make this one of the standout Zambia safari activities.
Fish excursions, boat and sunset cruises on the Kafue River are excellent for birding. A visit to a local community school is also possible; this is an excellent option for giving back to the local community.
Child Friendly
Families with children of all ages are most welcome at Mukambi Safari Lodge, which has suitable accommodation, meals, and activity options.
Please note that children under six years of age are not allowed on game drives unless a private vehicle is booked, that this is a malaria area, and that precautions need to be taken.
In Conclusion
Mukambi Safari Lodge offers an unforgettable experience nestled in the heart of the Kafue National Park. It perfectly combines the thrill of wilderness adventures with the comforts of luxury lodgings.
Whether you're an avid birdwatcher, a fishing enthusiast, or simply seeking to immerse yourself in the natural beauty that Zambia has to offer, Mukambi provides a tailored, intimate experience.
