Everywhere you look, you can see and even feel the personal atmosphere of this owner-run lodge with furnishings that were selected with great attention to detail. Plantation Lodge's cordial service leaves no wish unfulfilled. The lodge's location promises maximum safari enjoyment: a stone's throw from the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a short hop from the Tarangire and Lake Manyara national parks, and just a short journey from the Serengeti. ROOM & SUITE TYPES: The lodge's 16 rooms lie generously distributed throughout the flowering garden, some with verandas and direct access to the garden. Individuality is a major feature of Plantation Lodge, where each room has its own style, choice accessories and bouquets of fresh flowers from the garden that put the cherry on the cake. The lodge's roommaids care conscientiously for the rooms and are happy to see to our guests' needs. FOOD & WINE: Fresh variety is the motto of our kitchen. There grow our own vegetables, salads, herbs and fruit. This means that the products from our kitchen are healthy, untreated and particularly tasty. In the restaurant they pamper their guests every evening with a fine multicourse meal in a stylish, comfortable atmosphere. A good wine from the cellar rounds off the culinary pleasure. At lunchtime you can enjoy dishes al fresco. They'll be happy to serve you lunch or afternoon coffee and cake at one of our garden tables. FACILITIES: Whether you just want to laze around or you want to refresh yourself after a dusty game drive - our pool with its view of the picturesque hills is the ideal place for a break. You can relax luxuriously on one of the comfortable sunbeds. Read, swim, dream - time will just fly. And when the sun sinks blood red behind Mount Oldeani, this is the most romantic place for a sundowner. The garden is not merely a flowering backdrop, it is put to good practical use, providing as it does an inexhaustible supply of flowers for the vases in the lodge's rooms, fruits from the mango and avocado trees for our guests, and its coffee trees are far more than mere decoration. ACTIVITIES: Birdwatching in the garden of Plantation Lodge; Such colorful birds as Fischer's lovebirds or the yellow-bellied sunbird are regular visitors to Plantation Lodge. Our staff will explain the various bird species to you on a tour around our flowering garden. Visit to a coffee plantation; The coffee-exporting country Tanzania stands for very high quality products. A walk with one of our staff will lead to a neighboring coffee plantation. Here you will learn how coffee beans are treated and what steps are needed to make this delicious and aromatic beverage. Visit to a farm; With one of our staff you will visit one of the farms adjacent to the lodge. Here you will gain an insight into African country life: You will see how the people on the farm live and work. |
