Waverley Hills Wine Estate
Visit Waverley Hills Wine Estate: A Hidden Gem Near Tulbagh and Wolseley
When visiting the Tulbagh region, a trip to Waverley Hills is an absolute must. While technically located near Wolseley, it is a mere 10-minute drive from Tulbagh and offers an experience that is truly worthwhile.
Positioned high on a mountain slope, the views from the tasting area and restaurant are nothing short of sublime, offering spectacular panoramas of the surrounding landscape.
While I don't claim to be a wine connoisseur, the wines on offer were exceptional. These are excellent, highly drinkable wines, perfect for any occasion. I do have a particular fondness for a good MCC, and I must say the Waverley Hills bubbly is a delightfully crisp and dry offering that is simply superb.
A truly remarkable aspect of their wine is the incredibly low sulphite content. For those who suffer from asthma or sulphite allergies, this is without a doubt the wine for you. In all my years of wine tasting, this was the first time I did not need to reach for my asthma pump—a testament to the exceptional care they take in their winemaking process.
The staff at Waverley Hills are exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate, not only about their wines but also the fantastic menu. It was an absolute pleasure listening to the stories of the farm, its unique history, the numerous awards won, and the wildlife that roams the property.
Waverley Hills offers that something a little different, an exceptional quality that makes the journey there an unforgettable experience.
