The adventure continues as you move toward the Khwai Safari Area, a place where pristine waterways and dense forests meet. Your evenings bring the thrill of nighttime drives, offering rare glimpses of Botswana’s elusive nocturnal animals. By day, glide through the serene waters on a mokoro (traditional canoe) for an intimate look at this unspoiled paradise. With comfortable wild camping under the vast African sky, this 7-day safari promises an extraordinary immersion into one of Africa's most treasured landscapes.

Day 1: Moremi Game Reserve

  • We will depart by vehicle from Maun by 08h00; your guide will collect you from your accommodation at this time for the drive into Moremi.
  • Spending our first of three nights camping in the Xakanaxa region, we explore the surrounding wilderness on game drives during the day.
  • The Xakanaxa region of the Moremi Game Reserve is well known for its wildlife and birdlife.

Days 2-3: Moremi Game Reserve

  • The habitat in Moremi consists of floodplains, marshes, lagoons, woodland and savannah and as result wildlife and birdlife sighting are excellent.
  • We spend these two days exploring all that is the Moremi by safari vehicle on morning and afternoon game drives.
  • Moremi is amongst the best game reserves in Africa for viewing the endangered African wild dog.
  • Xakanaxa is home to a resident herd of several hundred buffalo whose range covers the territories of at least 4 prides of lion.
  • Breeding herds of elephants move between their browsing areas in the mopane forests and the freshwater of the Okavango.

Day 4: Khwai Safari Area

  • You take a slow drive through Moremi Game Reserve north-east towards the Khwai community area following an early morning breakfast.
  • We spend our first of three nights wild camping in the Khwai region.
  • We follow the Khwai River on a 4x4 track weaving from the riverside and floodplains into the mopane veld and the woodlands.
  • The Khwai region is without question one of the most scenic areas of the Okavango.
  • Wildlife and birdlife here are spectacular.
  • A late afternoon and early evening game drive is followed by dinner.

Days 5-6: Khwai Safari Area

  • We spend the following two nights camping at an exclusive campsite in the community area, exploring the Khwai floodplains on game drives both during the day and at night.
  • Exploring after dark with spotlights offers you an opportunity to experience some of the nocturnal animals rarely encountered during the day.
  • We will also have the opportunity to explore the surrounding wilderness by mokoro and enjoy an up-close and personal encounter with Botswana’s flora and fauna.
  • Returning each night to our campsite in the wilds for dinner and a good night's sleep.
  • Wild Camping B-L-D

Day 7: Botswana Miracle Rivers Safari ends

  • After an early breakfast, we will depart our camp for the final drive back to Maun, where we aim to arrive at approximately 12h00.
