Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve is approximately 270km north of Cape Town, on the edge of the Cederberg Wilderness Area, this is where the Reserve lies. This unique Cape reserve is an ecological oasis situated between the rugged foothills of the Cederberg Mountains and the plains of the Great Karoo.
The area is characterised by immense open plains, ravines, waterfalls and prehistoric rock formations.
Home to a large variety of botanical communities, more than 755 plant species, and is a premier spring flower destination.
Since 1992, Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve has embodied the rebirth and development of this sanctuary, with a mission to create a thriving wilderness which nurtures its indigenous life, protects its history and secures its future.
Bushmans Kloof is a privately owned wilderness reserve and is world renowned for its 130 rock art sites. In recognition of its rich cultural, historical and environmental significance, Bushmans Kloof has been declared a South African Natural Heritage site.

Other dining options include "Makana" outdoor dining facility with lounge and dining area that offers spectacular views overlooking the Boontjies River, as well as "Embers", a wonderful new addition to the dining experience.
"Embers" is situated in a natural ancient sandstone amphitheatre of giant boulders which overlooks dramatic cliffs and valleys.
Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve is renowned for its stylish and contemporary country cuisine. The chef specialises in seasonal dishes with a touch of Cape heritage cooking, using organically grown farm produce, and fresh ingredients from the expansive walled vegetable, fruit and herb garden. Guests are invited to the wine cellar to select their wine from an award winning wine list which features top South African wines.
The rates are fully inclusive of a light continental breakfast, coffee and muffins, a scrumptious brunch buffet after the morning excursion, afternoon teas - around a crackling log fire in winter, or on the riverbanks in summer - and delicious four-course dinners served in the elegantly appointed dining room al fresco, or at Spanners, capturing the true flavour of an African night under a million stars.
